Oh btw, my fightstick is working fine on pc for sfv. It's an xbox 360 sf v tekken stick.

Had a few more fights yesterday evening, won them all so far. Everyone really must be terrible cos I've got no idea what I'm doing atm. I don't even recall seeing a character select screen I seem to be ryu by default!?

It uses your favourite character, under battle settings i think?

Also uses your favourite stage if you get to 'pick'.

Everyone just rolls their face on the stick until you get out of silver. You can beat them all with one button.

As a beginner I started playing Ryu , although I'm not winning many casual games I feel like I'm getting the hang of it pretty well , just my timings that are way out

... Gonna hopefully get a fightstick next week . How long should I practice with Ryu before trying another character ? I really fancy practising with dhalsim and getting good with him as my main character , I did try him for a few fights when I first got the game but after reading majority of people saying beginners should start with Ryu this is what I did

Been using Ryu as my main since release and started using Charlie last night - My game has changed

Still not sure if I prefer him over Ryu though

Inclined to agree so far - I usually main Akuma all the time but since hes not in 5 yet I started using Ryu.

Still hoping for Akuma at some point tho but Nash so far im really digging

He's by far the most popular character so he will be in it at some point in 2017/2018.

SFV just isn't deep enough for me, I get bored quickly

Really? It's actually a lot deeper than SFIV... a lot!

It's all about the crush counter setups and training your opponents behaviour. I like it a lot because of this complexity.

SFIV was a very simple turn your brain off and do the same patterns over and over, with some very difficult long combos thrown in. A bit less so with Ultra admittedly but only a little bit.

What character are you playing?

Just lost my first game, to a Nash player. My impressions of the game will probably keep changing as I play more but now that I'm a few games in, Ryu feels fairly basic and very limited to me atm.

Gonna stick with him until I actually learn how to play the game properly then I'll try another character.

I've just had a nightmarish hour. Couldn't hit any combos whatsoever. Thought it best just to switch off rather than getting frustrated.

Had some crazy laggy games today very annoying when I've set it too only 5 on the network rating. Played with Drunzer last night and got my ass handed too me cleanly but its great fun. Gonna spend a few weeks getting the basics down before I play with anyone here haha.

Makes more sense now. The first days I played I did most of the story missions but gained no EXP (no idea why I had an account and everything) so thought the only way too gain exp was online.

Overall fun game but god damn they need too sort some of this crap out.
