Strip club etiquette.

Touch their privates. Strippers love it when guys get a bit handsy
Yeah, always give them your tip. And a bit extra for good luck.

(I have never been to a strip club, even as one of the Forever Alone brigade I can't see the appeal. They just want your money and RedTube is free :p).

I'll never forget the bargain my friends and I copped in Ayia Napa... €20 each for entry, 2 drinks and 2 dance tokens (plus we got a free cab there). On each dance they'd always try and upsell an additional service and when comparing the price quoted for this additional service, it was hilarious to find out our borderline obese friend had been quoted €400 which was about 4x the price the rest of us were offered.

I've never been to a proper strip club but in one of the bars in Prague where one of my friends used to work they had "dancers" every Wednesday and Friday I think it was. Usually it was girls studying at uni there to make some extra cash. The bar was a turned L-shape and in the corner of the L there was a round table with a pole on it. One day when I was there my friend told me she had arranged a seat for me which turned out to be right in front of that pole... Can say I got some decent views that night :D

Been to 2 clubs in 2 stag nights.
First was string fellows I think covernt garden.
Spoke loads to some Scottish girl that just was nice and down to earth while all the trashy eastern Europeans got the money. I felt so bad I paid her for a pity dance lol.

The other was a spearmint rhino somewhereand it was awful in comparison, the girls saying lines that would make you burst out laughing. There was one genuine stunner that I think all 8 of us had a dance with, and the drunk groom embarrassingly decided he had fallen in love with her. It was awful.

Been into two, both on stag nights.

One in Edinburgh and the other Newcastle.

Was hammered up in Edinburgh and it was a laugh I guess, got a dance but it's all pretty cringe and the girls always seem worse up close.

In Newcastle I wasn't as drunk and it was more fun watching two of our friends not know how to deal with half naked women crawling all over them for money lol. One just got up and left. Didn't bother with a dance in there.

Probs won't step inside one again (everyone is married now lol)

I have been to a fair few, in the UK, Australia and the US.

In respect to the UK.

1)Zero touching policy, so either sit on your hands or have them behind your back. Some of the girls WILL encourage you to do it on the basis that they might get an extra 'tip', but if one of the gorilla security guys notices, expect a hard time.
2)I have always paid £20 for a dance, no more and no less.
3)Never go to the champagne lounge......its a one way ticket to a wallet hammering experience with little to no payoff.
4)Also a personal one....if you know you are going to venture into one later on that night....never take a card with you.....cash only.

There is no minimum dance requirement and you can go to a strip club and decide to not spend a penny. Thats also cool. Sure the girls will initially harass you, but feel comfortable in rejecting them and soon word will get around that you are not going to spend anything and the rest of the night will be hassle free.

UK strip clubs in my experience are comparatively not great.

I am going to Dublin in April for a friend's Stag party, so invariably we will be in one.

p.s : I went to a strip club in Newcastle once called 'Pussy Galore'.......I remember it being a good night.

I have been to a few on stag dos, where it is basically compulsory, but never actually paid for a dance, so I have no idea on etiquette. ANyway, certainly, don't feel that you have to pay for any dances. You will get approached by the ladies, they might drape themselves across you and ask you to come along with them for a dance, but you don't have to do anything if you're not up for it. To be fair, it's pretty awkward saying no several times. Being polite seems to work and eventually they will just ignore you. If none of your group is taking dances then you might be asked to leave, unless you are spending money on drinks (which as a rule, seem to be ridiculously expensive).

One point worth noting - don't sit on "Sniffer's Row" unless you're planning to tip paper money. You might get dragged away by a bouncer - saw it happen to a group of lads in a massive place on a stag do in Prague. Ended up in a bit of a scuffle. Bouncers won.

In my opinion, they are awful places. I don't think anyone in the building truly wants to be there. As soon as you walk through the doors you have turned yourself into a fish in a barrel waiting to be shot at. Nothing good can ever come of being in a strip club apart from being able to tell hilarious stories about other people's misfortunes. If anything bad happens to you there, it will always have happened to you in a strip club.

No tips needed.

Only have a private dance if you want to.

Have as many or as few as you want.

Just carry on as if you were socialising down the pub with your friends but enjoy the view too :)

This is bang on.

No touching during the private dance as the bouncer will watch every second. She'll be REALLY close up to you and the temptation is there to do something but you can't.

If you buy food it'll cost you and arm and a leg so just eat food before you go in, then just buy drinks in there.

Who was pitying whom, tho? :p

Isn't it a bit rude / problematic to go to one and not tip dancers buy a dance? Like going to a restaurant and not buying a meal. Note, I'm not disputing what you say at all - just this would be my expectation.

I kind of feel I should. Seems to be kind of a trendy thing. I guess in part I do just not want to be a prude. :D I have been in one once before when I was out with a group of men but I didn't stay in there long.

Unless this is oddly phrased, are you a woman? Because I think most of the advice is based on you being a handsy, drunken bloke.
