Strip club etiquette.

In the Raymond Revue bar around 2003, Their was a pair of Swedish twins. Absolutely delicious they were. They used to prostitute themselves to punters they liked the look of. They offered me an hour with both of them for £200. I politely declined saying that I had a girlfriend. Reality was, it would have been a waste of money as they were so fit, I’d have probably shot my bolt within 30 seconds!

But I don’t understand why you feel they shouldn’t exist; it’s the same argument that lost Grid Girls good secondary incomes
I'd say that was different: F1's fanbase is ageing very fast and stuff like grid girls is a turnoff for younger audiences. They need to modernise, and that was an obvious one.

For strip clubs, on the other hand, the girls are the product. Some people will be into it and others not but, of course, you won't attract new punters by getting rid of the girls.

I am incredulous that "strip club etiquette" is a subject that has run to 6 pages! ;) I am going to have to refer to Debretts and see if they have a section on this. Perhaps it's now taught at the better lady's finishing schools in 2019, alongside how to address nobility and how to enter a low sports car with decorum and finesse?

The average slapper on the ladder (or pole..) to becoming a prostitute is unlikely to judge her punters as either gentlemen or commoners I would have thought ;) A more unlikely venue to worry about etiquette is hard to imagine.

Etiquette always matters, whatever the situation. Correct etiquette will vary in dfferent situations, but there will always be correct etiquette. Including in a strip club. The strippers will judge their customers, obviously, but the point of good manners is about you and not about other people.

I find it rather odd that in our enlightened times that such places still exist. I have personally never been and never plan to either. I find it a little sad that a good friend of my daughter who I have known since she was 7, is now working in a strip club.. Sorry "gentleman's club". Horses for courses I suppose.

Someone I used to work with left to work in a strip club because she considered it better work than being a flunkey and with better working hours and with a much higher rate of pay.

Always remember Joe Don Baker in Charley Varrick. "I don't sleep with whores, at least not knowingly" sage advice from a great film :)

Is there any evidence to support this? Or are you talking about the same young people that idolise Cardi B and Little Mix (et al) who mostly dress like cheap strippers? Because it sounds like nonsense.

PS: Side question. For those who have been to a strip club whilst in a relationship, did you tell your other half before/after/never?

There's no evidence to support it. And the overlap between radical feminists and F1 racing / darts / boxing attendees is, I should think, quite slim. I saw a number of debates on TV and online between actual grid girls and feminists telling them they were degrading themselves and should be stopped. I didn't see young people ("hello fellow young people" / stevebuscemi) deriding it or saying it put them off going. Lard's just made up something that they'd like to be true.

How was it?

I've been with friends in the past and it really wasn't for me. There were nice enough people there but nothing that can't be found in a pub or club environment.

Are you ignoring my question because it's boring or awkward or anything else? Relevant to the discussion - your discussion, incidentally - so keen to hear your thoughts.
Maybe you've been blocked. I mean, I'm not saying you have, or even that it's likely.

It's just one possibility among hundreds. I'm sure it's not that tho and there's a perfectly reasonable, non-blocked explanation.

But you couldn't rule it out. I mean, there's always that possibility.

Don't dwell on it. I'm sure it's nothing. Probably just hasn't gotten around to replying. But I doubt you're blocked. You could be, but I doubt it.

I reckon most WAGs form the UK would be OK with it, since they're fairly tame in the UK. You could probably have a different reaction if your partner was from continental Europe where a strip club perhaps isn't too far removed from a brothel.

Question for those that go; why?

If you’re in your twenties, or recently broken up etc I get it, just a laugh, otherwise I just don’t get it.

Unless I am wrong , I don't believe that strip clubs are a hobby for anyone? Its not something that I think about week in week out or as a way to kill or enjoy time.

Its just something that bolted onto a Bachelors night out. Even when I go out for a non event evening with my friends we dont go.....its just that stag parties and strip clubs go hand in hand.

I appreciate that :

1)Its a waste of money....and a lot of it
2)The premises are usually dimly lit with poor seating and over priced drinks.

However mentally I write the money off before I go on a stag do.....whatever it gets spent on....it gets spent on.

I leave it at that....thats as much as an attachment to it that I get.

But these places do have regular business. It can’t all be lads getting married. I dunno, just seems weird to me, though I’m not judging, I don’t doubt that I’m the odd one. I suppose when I was younger, or before I got ill, that a big night out and then staggering into a strip club would have been my idea of awesome.

I don’t want a stag when I get married, I’d much prefer a nice dinner out with the people that matter most to me, and that includes the Mrs. I used to love going out on the lash, but I’ve not been capable, or allowed, for years and I don’t miss it. I do miss a good dance, but thats off the cards anyways.

At this point I think I prefer the spa to the bar :D
