Whether its fair on Suarez or not is neither here or there...where is is unfair is in the Liverpool Fans and the Club, and the only person to blame is Suarez himself. Hopefully Liverpool also discipline him accordingly.

Except the **** gets less punished than Liverpool and his country really. He still gets paid by them whilst sitting on his arse and their results are likely to suffer.

Would be pretty disheartening if he gets paid by Liverpool through it all.

Liverpool should tell him to get stuffed and refuse to pay him.

And then the PFA will be down their throats I'm sure.

I love his ability, I want him to stay forever while he is performing the way he does, but when he leaves there won't be much emotional attachment the way I liked Torres etc.

Probably the best player I'll see playing for us but he is a **** at the end of the day

LoLz :D

Couple of things...........

To the people saying "If I bit someone at work blahblahblah"

You're not worth millions of pounds, he's an asset, to cut you losses on someone that is worth millions would be retarded. He got off lightly and should thank his lucky stars.

Johnnymendoza questioning anyones IQ is ****ing hilarious :D

He should be and I can't see the PFA in any way refusing to let them do so, it will be down to if they feel they want the hassle. He might kick up a stink about leaving and want some loyalty payment where if you pay him he might let that slide... who knows. Liverpool are in a tough spot. Uruguay can probably fine him and ask back or refuse to pay his appearance fee's due for the WC while Liverpool might look bad to the player anyway if they fine him.

I'd find it very hard to swallow my ticket money going to his wages when he can't play due to his own behaviour.

Of course, it may be Barca fans paying for those wages. If so expect the deal to go down on August 30th ;)

Would like to have seen 6 months but when you think about it. Thats some ban that he got. Well done fifa

I don't think the ban is particularly soft, but it really needed a 4-6 month suspended ban to hold as a threat over his head, because I see that being a huge deterrent while when he's playing again... I see nothing stopping him doing it again. It would also mean Fifa can utterly destroy him next time he does it, suspended ban plus new ban, 18-24months total.

Challenge: go down the shops and bite someone. 6 months later do it again. 6 months later do it again.

See if you avoid jail :)

If you bit someone to the point where you drew blood then yes you would get in trouble. As with everything else, different levels of violence are punished differently. Punching someone gently in the arm is not the same as trying to knock their head off.

Suarez didn't try to take a chunk out of Chiellini, he just had a nibble.

I wonder if there's any chance he'll leave now? If Liverpool got a very good offer (perhaps not £70m, but say 50) from Barcelona now, would you want them to consider selling him?

I can't even see anyone paying £50m for him now though, considering the ban.

What did Ferdinand get from the FA, 9 months?

He's a lucky boy Suarez.

Drugs are treated very differently in most sports, largely because drugs cheating is very hard to prove with most of the best drugs being undetectable. It's supposed to be excessive bans to scare people from trying, and to punish the few they catch. With on field antics they don't need quite the same tactics purely as people can see these things happen. Drugs are so hard to regulate because it happens off the field, in a room, where no one can have a clue what's happening.

He's got away very lightly with this in my opinion.

To anyone saying that Liverpool shouldn't be punished, you're wrong. It's no different than if I bit someone in the street and got sent to prison for 4 months. My employers wouldn't be able to sue the CPS or anything ridiculous like that. It's the clubs own fault for rewarding his last biting incident with an improved contract.

No. Suarez will do for us in 29 games what any other player we'd get in would do in 50.

Fascinating.

I think you've confused drug taking with missing a drugs test though.

They could fine him significantly and fairly for bringing the club into disrepute and failing to honour the terms of his contract.

I doubt the PFA would have too much to say about that.

Could they get 3m though? (I read thats how much he'll be paid by then, could be wrong but can't be arsed calculating)
