Summer Transfer Thread 2018

They are 3 very good players. It’s not as if we have a weak squad. I think our squad is pretty strong now. Anyway, like I said, it’s impossible to call the way Arsenal will go this season as we don’t know what the new manager will do with them. I’d be happy to get back in the top four.
I've not seen much of Torreira outside the WC so how good he is remains to be seen but Leno and Papastatopolous are no better than what you've got.

All this petty sniping at other teams signings is a bit pathetic.

Shaqiri was a snip at £12m and will be a quality squad player for Liverpool, and Arsenal, by buying quality players, have addressed holes in their squad that have been there for too long.

Both sides have done well.

Its not sniping its a genuine opinion. When Arsenal fans were raving about their new manager I was simply pointing out that they dont appear to be making the signings that would push them on. Shaqiri is just depth and a player that can come in when one of the front three need a break.

I'm not sure how you can say that without seeing them play or how Emery sets them up.

I'd argue that having an actual DM in our starting 11 is already a massive improvement, even if he takes time to settle. We have a good squad too, just a few glaring holes and a poor atmosphere at the club have held us back. Also mistakes, we made the most mistakes that lead to goals in Europes top 5 leagues (at least until around Feb this year), a few experienced defenders and a manger who doesn't completely ignore our defensive responsibility should see that naivety come to an end.

We also don't seem to have Liverpool transfer money. Anyway, lets let the teams do the talking when proper football is back :)

He'd be a decent buy, but not at the £55 million Spurs supposedly want. That's a heck of a lot of money for a defender who turns 30 next season. If we're lucky we might get one decent contract out of him, and there's every chance he could drop off in two or three years time. Ferdinand and Vidic's performances fell off a cliff when they hit about 32-33.

Why dont you have the money though? I thought you were pretty cash rich?

We have plenty of cash, but the board decided with a new manager/coach at the helm that we would give a budget which he has stuck to. He has bought a few players for the budget so let’s see how he does before we pass judgement on him eh??

I mean you lot still haven’t bought a decent gk, still sticking with Karius by the looks of it ;). I mean you have plenty of cash haven’t u??

We want to sign a keeper but rather than just buying another keeper that's not up to it, Klopp only wants to sign a top class one.

Im not arguing, its a conversation. Didnt realise a "comeback" was necessary lol.

How much can Chelsea demand for Hazard right now? Ive seen 200mil banded about but im not sure hes in the bracket...100mil?
Coming into his absolute prime but still under two years contract, I would have no problem valuing him at £140-£150m in today’s crazy market.

Has never done big numbers goalwise though. I think 100-110 ish personally. I dont think hes top tier bracket although i appreciate im very much in the minority who think that.

He gets more than acceptable numbers for his position, he's not a striker. And its his creative play and the way he can just split open defences in seconds that makes him so valuable. Plus, he's bloody quick. Pace is probably one of the most valuable assets in an attacking player.

For 150mil id want more then "acceptible numbers" personally. He's a great player, not sure hes 150mil great.

Markets a state though so expect him to go for 200mil plus.
