Not to mention they just Mahrez for a substantial amount. They do not need the money.Leicester certainly don’t need the money. They’re quite a rich club, valued at something like half a billion dollars.

Well I’m hoping they make a stand. It’s about time players stopped holding all the cards. Im scared to get emotionally invested in a player any more because they can just up sticks as soon as they fancy it.Doesn't matter, player power will force them to sell.

Yeah, it delayed it, but they still got the original price of £60m. Plus, they got to keep him for longer. I don’t think this shorter window helps tbh. Clubs haven’t got as long to replace the player. They tried with Mahrez and just delayed the inevitable
Why is it stupid for Leicester to keep a hold of their best players?
The price tag is only relevant if they want to sell him, which they don't want to, and don't have to either.
Maguires stock is only going to rise if he keeps on doing the business.
VVD who's a donkey went for a lot more, so never say never.Would he go for more than £65m, other than if football inflation kicks in further?
I’m sure Baz will be along in a minuteVVD who's a donkey went for a lot more, so never say never.
If Leicester have a bottomless pit of money to improve their squad without the sale of Maguire then fair enough but I'm guessing they don't. For anything like £60m you'd have to think Leicester can reinvest that money and be better off without Maguire.
As for his stock only going to rise, I find that hugely unlikely. His stock is at it's absolute highest following a bit of hype around the WC. Prior to the WC there was next to no links to top sides, let alone at this sort of fee and interest in him (at anything like this level) isn't going to be there again. If Utd don't sign him now then Mourinho will just move on to the next target on his list (as I said, they're here now because they can't agree a deal fof Alderweireld) - would Liverpool, City or any other side that could spend this amount be interested in him for similar money? I'd be stunned, if only for the fact that he doesn't suit the style of play.
Leicester aren't going to be better off with Maguire gone. It's alright selling a player, but you need to replace them.
But couple of goals from Maguire on the 10th August for Leicester, will soon change people's mind about his stock not going up.
Leicester might not have a endless stream of money, but they won't be bullied into selling player's because mighty man utd want a them!
Personally, I think Man utd should be concentrating their energy on Lindelöf, who cost how much?

Well they have bought a £25m attacking midfielder, so it’s kind of one out, one in. Not that the replacement is in the same league though.Have they replaced their best player; Mahrez?
Of course you would need to replace him but my point was, surely you could replace him for less than £65m. You'd be replacing Harry Maguire, not Messi. With that sort of money you could bring in 2 or 3 players that should improve the team overall.Leicester aren't going to be better off with Maguire gone.
