Summer Transfer Thread 2018

The last few deadline days have been boring as **** but I think we're going to be in for some absolute madness this window. Supposedly Courtois didn't turn up to training at Chelsea, presumably to force a move to Real with Chelsea reportedly interested in Butland. There's then question marks over Willian and Hazard still, City want another midfielder and **** knows what's happening at Utd and Spurs.
 
Is Pogba still classed though? I think that's being generous considering they dumped him when he was younger.

Its not like hes playing kids...hes playing established premier league players he didnt help bring through.

Stadium financing will put the squeeze on for a while, but they will cope with far better than we did. For starters they have been able to keep their best players and they have a younger manager with a bright future, rather than Wenger, who was going past his best years when we moved to the Emirates and couldn't get to grips with the changing landscape of the premier league.

Plus, there's shedloads more money for clubs in the top 4 these days, so it surely wont take spurs as long as it did us to loosen the purse strings. We moved to the Emirates in 2006. We was still selling our best players and replacing them with garbage 6 years later!

Spurs will be alright. Easy top four for them this season I think.

Yes but its not like hes brought them through is it. They arent "prospects" they are,Rashford aside, mature footballers, one he paid 80odd million for. Its like Liverpool playing Gerrard and praising Rodgers for playing an academy player. Trent at Liverpool is the type people are getting at i think.

So the 3 'academy players' players that played regularly were all established senior players before Mourinho arrived?

How much do you think you'll see of McTominay and Pereira this season? Surely with Pogba, Matic, Herrera, Fred and Fellaini their chances will be limited at best?

edit: just noticed that Pereira's 22 years old and played 2 full seasons of first team football already.

Baz is right, I meant new players from the academy that he's played. I'd say McTominay is about the only one. The others have either left and been brought back or were getting game time before he joined. If you look at his history at Chelsea then it's poor.

The point was he didnt play prospects..they arent prospects. Ones a 80 million pound player lol.

The fact that Mctominay got your young player of the season after a handful of games says a lot.
 
Rashford is far from a finished player. Not sure you can critisise because they were already there...if he was as you say - he could’ve quite easily sent them back to the reserves. Haters gonna hate!
 
Alderwereild and Maguire please. Don’t want Boateng anywhere near Utd. Sod the cost, just want a reasonable team and Jones nowhere near it!
No outgoing decent players such as Martial either please! Only outgoing person should be Mourinho in a few months.
Also, Poch when Mourinho leaves. Not asking much am I? :D

Sky Sports are reporting £45 million plus those two players. It's an outrageous offer from Barca. Pogba has just won the WC with France while being one of their best players, and the transfer market has gone even more mental since we bought him for £93 million. I'd say Pogba is worth £150 million at this point, and even if you generously value Gomes and Mina at £30 million each that means Barca need to double their cash offer.

Anyway, letting Pogba go at this stage of the transfer window wouldn't make any sense for any amount of money. Annoyingly Spanish sides have another three and a half weeks to buy players so we probably haven't heard the last of this.
