Summer Transfer Thread 2019

Can't see it happening unless we've got a relatively big offer for one of our players. They value him at £80mil, we're rumoured to have £45mil to spend, no doubt we're going to make a ridiculously insulting offer. I wouldn't mind Zaha at arsenal, but for £80mil I'd rather we pursue Ziyech and put the rest of the money towards our defence.

Ziyech would be cheaper too.

Our owners comments on transfers not making me feel good about this window.

Lallana needs to go and be replaced, he is not good enough for us now or reliable anymore.

Need a left back to come in so Robertson can be rested, still think we need that number 10 plus a striker with sturridge going.

Brewster replaces Sturridge.

I don’t really want Zaha, especially for £80m. That’s near Ronaldo and Hazard levels! Insane valuation.

According to the press this afternoon, we have bid £40mill for him. That's almost our entire transfer fund, if the reports are true. Wonder if that means we will be selling the joint golden boot winner?

And of course Sturridge barely featured too. Replacing Sturridge isn't an issue for us, it's providing competition/cover for Salah and Mane. I'd have hoped we'd have gone in for another top class attacker to give us that competition that we need but it's starting to look like that we may just pick up a youngster and then rely on the likes of Ox to give us more options in attack and or I suspect we'll see us playing some type of 4-4-2/4-2-3-1 more often next season.

I’m hoping AOC will come back and be like a new signing. I’m sure he’ll play over Lallana and Shaquiri.

I'm sure he will. The concern with him will be fitness wise after such a big injury but also, like Shaqiri and Lallana, he's more of a midfielder than forward in our side. I get the feeling that Klopp's thinking is that if we do get a meaningful injury to Salah or Mane then rather than try to replace them with an inferior player, tweaking the system might be a better option.

In other news I've just seen that Gruijic is going to stay on loan at Hertha. There'd been a fair bit of talk that a number of other German sides (and even Atletico) wanted to sign him on a permanent deal but it looks like we're happy for him to keep developing with the view to cashing in for a higher price maybe next summer.

Either that or these rumours of a 45m transfer budget is nonsense, considering we have placed bids for that Tierney as well.

Wasn't that Adidas deal worth like 300m over 5 years, will all that money go into Kroenke's pocket.

I don't understand our finances, I thought we could only spend that because of financial fair play.
