Summer Transfer Thread 2019

No replacement for Lukaku or Herrera? Where are the goals coming from.
It matters little if there isn’t a decent supply from behind. United looked promising in the first 4 pre season games, but they were less so in the remaining 2 games. I have little confidence in United challenging for the top 6.

Reckon Iwobi could come good at Everton, wish him the best.

40m is a good haul for him, and it frees up the position for Martinelli or Saka to stake a claim. Good bit of business, 9/10 transfer window from us. I’m excited to watch arsenal again, bring on the new season!

Decent window for Arsenal. Par for United. Weak for Liverpool. City truck on. Spuds will be quite happy. FFP could be a big issue for Lampard keeping top 4. Roll on the weekend.

Id say Uniteds was weaker then ours. A forward would have been nice but we have enough to go again next season.

Weren’t you struggling in midfield towards the end of the season? AOC back will be a boost but other than him who else can step into that midfield and do a decent job?

Gini, Fabinho, Keita, AOC, Milner seem to be your only midfielders that aren’t a bit of a drop off in quality. Unless I’m missing someone?

I think we've had a shocking window.

We're very light upfront so a lengthy injury to one of Mane, Firmino or Salah will ruin us. We also haven't addressed the lack of goals from midfield and still have very little creativity from that area of the pitch. Our fullbacks take a lot of that burden but the lack of goals could be a problem.

add Henderson, Shaq and Lallana to that list and I think it's a pretty deep midfield. Origi is winger/ striker cover but would have liked to of added another and a LB. Any one we were signing was basically a squad player though.

We didn't need to do much but basically did nothing. Meh honestly. we've got an incredibly strong starting 11 and depth through the middle.

Luiz confirmed, really suits us and is a step up from what we have (depressingly). Good window, especially when you factor in that we could have our CB partnership for the next 5+ years in Saliba and Holding.

Fair enough on Henderson, but Lallana has never looked good enough and I would’ve thought Shaq is more of a back up for the wide players up front?

Regardless at the level liverpool are playing at its not enough to have a strong 11, you need quality in depth similar to city (obviously they’re way ahead in terms of resources).

Lallana had a brief spell of being excellent but then injury, injury, injury. I think he's spent..... Happy to be proved wrong though.

Actually quite pleased with Arsenals's dealings. Would have preferred to keep Saliba and possibly have got another winger in but way better than I thought. Be interesting to see how we play.

Ed Deadwood looks quite the fool... Arsenal and Spurs could have left us in the dust if they could have got the Dybala deal done wow it would have been like this

City
Liverpool
Spurs
Arsenal
United

Now if United anticipated Lukaku going why not spend £75m in midfield? Then suddenly when the Dybala deal falls through with say Savic or Fernandes or Dybala it looks like this

City
Liverpool
United
Spurs
Arsenal

You have to remember though that the players that took some time to adapt last season like Fabinho and Keita shouldnt have that issue this. Keita has looked good in pre season and Fabinho for me is the first on the team sheet...in midfield at least. Then you add a fit Brewster who looks a talent, a more confident Origi and super Ryan Kent* and we are doing alright.

Also Ox is like a new signing....i hate that phrase but he literally is in this case. Possibly light upfront but then we have to save money for #Mbappe2020 .

*im joking.
