**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Leeds are pretty much playoffs now, Delph and Beckford must go if you fail to get promoted though

As for Toon, who will want to play for us, can't wait to see who gets all of our cast offs when we go down....

Spurs should stop trying to shoehorn Bale in the LB position, why waste time on his defending as he's quite poor at it. He's good going forward so make him a midfielder imho.

That's my thinking too. I guess either Bale feels he's a better LB or Harry thinks he's too lightweight for midfield. Surprisingly, Lennon has shown to be quite useful at tracking back to help out the defence this season.

Kind of like Gareth Bale then.

Thats a bit harsh, he's a reasonable left back already and has years of improvment left in him before people should expect him to be the finished article. He took the step up from Saints to early if you ask me and would have been better off staying or been given the same treatment Walcott got when he went to Arsenal. Expecting him to be a world class finished article at his age was ridiculous.

No it's not harsh, Bales positional sense is woefull and he has no sense of what's going on around him. He must be an absolute nightmare to play with as part of a back 4... which is kind of backed up by the unbelievable stat of him never winning a Premiership game.

We don't.

What we're doing now is exactly the same as what we did with Disco Benny (Benoit Assou-Ekotto) after his injury. He also was a promising LB but needed experience.

We put him in the reserve team for a prolonged period with the occasional first team game here and there.

Now look at him. He's our most improved player this year and looks solid as a rock most games. One of my favourite Spurs players after a long 'meh' period. :p

Bale might have a woefull sense of postitioning, but my god it's not as bad as Richards at Manchester City.

:D

Found it funny when he was playing for England and looked completely lost, kept getting caught out and wasn't doing the basics ! way to cement an England place kid.

Richards was superb last season. Not quite sure what's happened to him.

Fulham been linked with a few players;

Alvaro Negredo, Gareth Bale, Tom Huddlestone, Peter Crouch, Fabien (sp) Delph, Adam Lallana, Tamas Priskin.

Most could happen, but Delph would probably go to a bigger club.

Peter Crouch is due to lack of cash on Pompeys part.
