**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

He's been out since the end of last season. Picked it up player for Denmark in Feb last year and it flared up ahead of the first pre-season friendly again.

Like I say, it's possible he may not play again...(when I say not play again- he may- it's just the injury is likely to be there for keeps and continually flare up, heard that in the office this morning)

He played in the 2 pre-season games in the Far-East, it was over there the problem flared up again and since then he hasn't played. He's had the problem for longer than just the end of last season too. He was out with this back problem 2 or 3 times throughout last season.

Without knowing the exact details it's difficult to say but it is looking like something that he's just going to have to put up with. Surely if it could have been completely cleared up then he'd have had it sorted by now.

How is that a bad thing for Hull?

Its not a BAD thing for Hull, its another situation where a decent player is going to go to a small club and spend a season there and then get snapped up by some lazy top 4-6 manager who cant see further than the end of their nose.

Its LAZY management, Everton need a striker, Liverpool need another striker, United need another striker........

He is better than a goal every other game in La Liga, and the only club who have bothered to go in for him is Hull.

Its lunacy.

few of the journos were saying today it isn't looking good for the lad long term though...

I agree with that, I was gonna say, if the top teams want to pay triple his value one year later more fool them.

Ah, when you said that he's been out since the end of last season I thought you meant completely out. I wasn't sure why he missed the first 2 games but he played in the Far-East.

It's certainly a concern though because it keeps flaring up. Rafa's said he missed the last few pre-season games as just a precaution and that he should be fit by Sunday but it's not looking likely.

Fulham Arsenal and Spurs were also linked with him.

Linked yes, done anything about it?
No
Only ones who have bothered his Hull of all people, Harry was in the market for a striker, a striker who can play football the spurs way, on the deck, quick footed, left or right foot, quick across the ground, good footballing brain, linked with Negrado, ended up with Crouch, how does that work?

Could be several reasons.

I'm happy with Crouch.

Proven in the Prem.

Might be a good move for him.

I mean, if he can prove at Hull that he can perform in the Premier League, a better side might come in for him.

Bringing across any player that hasn't played in the Premier League can be a little risky.
How many times have you seen strikers not worked out in the Premier League ?

afonso alves springs to mind straight away..prolofic in holland

Difference with a player like this is, he has played in roughly the same kind of enviroment (la liga not the Eredivisie) and showed enough to be signed by Real Madrid.
Now Madrid over the past couple of years is no real indication of being a decent player, and they are just as prone to mistakes as anyone else.
Remember, they didnt rate Eto'o enough to keep him on (and its not just because of quotas.).

Cattermole gone for £6 million to Sunderland, £34 million in 6 months transfer fees, think we will struggle this season, I mean King, Scotland and Rodallega, Rodallega is decent but King is **** and not sure on Scotland.

Man Utd being linked to a goalie playing in Germany (Shalke I think) - not sure what the guy is like but 20m euros asking price must make him highly valued by his team at the very least

When ever VDS retires (meant to be before the 2010 season) Utd will need another keeper whether its to fight Foster for the No1 or to replace him before he gets there (after his "shocking" display on Sunday according to some), and of course Foster is slightly injured also

PIG will never become No1 imo - ok for Carling Cup duties etc but isnt good enough for a long run of games

I dont think Martinez is going to be able to do much with whats left, reminds me a bit of the lawrie sanchez thing with fulham.
He's had 5 minutes in the championship, and now faced with keeping Wigan in the Prem which is probably a harder job than winning the league with one of the top four.

And vitually every supporter who rang Bowtime on Talksport on monday.
And a good few Newspaper sports reporters.
He is never going to United No1, and if this report is true, looks like Fergie agrees as well, so if by the end of the transfer window he lands another striker (well he's got two in) another midielder, and a defender, we know he's been reading my posts.

Wonder if they are the same people who **** off VDS nearly every match also
