Agreed. Its a shame we met Liverpool and Man Utd so early in the season, although those defeats meant we had to buy so every cloud has a silver lining.

Yeah I'd of really feared for our chances had we played you with those in your starting XI :p

Might of only been 6-2  ;)

I thought Everton paid off all their debt when they sold Rooney? Have the board allowed the same thing to happen again (crippling debts), or did they not actually pay the loan off?

Everton are about £40 million under.

Their bank wont let them buy anymore players until a certain amount is paid off.

Common knowledge.

BBC reporting Arteta to Arsenal might be back on as he's requested a move after seeing the interest from Arsenal.

I hope that's not true, he will be a HUGE loss for Everton. But if he wants to play in the Champions League any time soon it's his only opportunity. :(

2242: News from Scotland, and it's got a hint of mystery about it. Rangers have rejected a late £9m offer for striker Nikica Jelavic after receiving a call from an agent who refused to say what club he was representing. It could have been anyone but let's rule Accrington Stanley out for starters.

That's a lot of cash.

Moyes: "Mikel informed me that he wished to join AFC. I am disappointed to lose him but the prospect of CL was something I can't offer"

*sigh*

I know they are, but HOW?? They were struggling with debt when they sold Rooney and the story went that they paid off all the debt.

They owe about £45 million I think.

It's believed it's actually around £60/65m, with interest, early loan repayments and all that jazz.

No we didn't. The Rooney money mainly went on new players and new contracts, a bit went to the banks. Just like the Lescott money.

You only just sat down in front of the computer right? :D

Cunning ploy by meireles to get more game time perhaps? - surely he knows it cant be done in under an hour, and he is currently injured too

Forgot about Gervinho who looked handy in the qualifier as well. Hopefully he can refrain from slapping people and show us what he can do in the league.

In what way have the club treated Meireles badly? Because he's not a certain starter anymore?
We've been trying to offload him for weeks and his finger at the bench as well as look on his face said it all the other day.

One of our best players last season forced out and now made to look like a **** because we chose to release the fact he's handed in a transfer request. Thought we did our business behind closed doors now?

Dalglish is going to fall flat on his face if Suarez gets injured this season :(

That's fine, he'd be CL tied

True - why would United want him then. This was the only time that made sense for them to sign him. He'll be 28 when he could play for Man Utd in the CL, and would have very little resale value.

Don't see it ever happening. Hope he's happy in Milan.
