My favourite thing about this thread is that some Arsenal fans seem to believe Fellaini can fill the 'Vieira role'.

Their style is about as similar as their looks.

Never really paid him much attention other than when was actually playing against us. He always caused us trouble.

I'm not even sure what his position is now. He has played in middle and up front for everton. People are saying he plays best as a DM, so I guess we are hoping that he could fill that spot by Vieira which hasnt been done well since Flammini last took it.

I take any signing as a plus with Arsenal. We have been starved out in the transfer market for so long we only have rumours to drive us on lol

I think it's odd that he's saying he doesn't want to leave and Fergie was trying to force him out  Who knows...

I doubt the whole story will come out for years - but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit of truth from both sides.

For the most part, Rooney just hasn't looked interested this season (which is a decent enough reason for SAF to have got a little annoyed with him), and being played out of position probably annoyed WR - the astronomical wages be damned lol

Nice signing for Spurs if they get Paulinho. Strange how they seem to always concentrate on midfielders rather than forwards mind.

we do need atleast one forward but a midfielder like paulinho will be a very welcome addition. not really a playmaker like modric but a more box-to-box midfielder with good finishing.

dembele, sandro, paulinho would be a great midfield.

I see no one has mentioned yet that Napoli have more or less said that City are out of the running for Cavani, they wont meet the £54mill release clause. Saying something along the likes that City cant afford it:eek:...dear god thought id never hear that being said by the City owners:p

Tbh im no that overly impressed with Cavani, sure hes scored what...33 goals for Napoli but seeing him the other night against Nigeria...i dont think hes worth that much.

Meh over to you Chelsea, wonder if RA will meet the release clause.
It isn't being able to afford it, its not wanting to pay it.
The Napoli owner also had a go at City for buying a team in the US, saying it we were using to get around FFP.
So I can't see us dealing with him in the future!

I think he will go to Real, unless Suarez makes official moves at wanting out of Liverpool then Madrid would probably go for him.

Will be interesting to see what happens regarding Isco as well, plenty of people still think he is coming to City and the Spanish media are running these stories just to put pressure on him.

How many times have you seen him play cm?

Paulinho is a welcome addition, but probably the least needed position in the team. We have Thud, Sandro, Parker, Dembele, Carroll, Livermore, Holtby, Dempsey, Siggy, Bale (in his new central position).

Most of the above are pants but compared to our striker line up of Defoe and Adebayor, I would much prefer us to spank some cash on a top class striker.

A further 2 top class strikers and a winger would be a perfect summer. I suppose that could be Tom Ince, Damiao and Villa.

Ince might be achievable, the other two strikers are massively unlikely to happen and we end up in the same position as every summer- where are we going to find a top class striker who wants to play for spurs?

if you start again next season with Adebarndoor as your first choice striker I think you are limiting yourself unbelievably. He's much worse than, for example, Torres in terms of productivity tbh, Torres at least works hard, moves well, challenges for aerial balls and can provide good interplay. Adebarndoor, as far as I can tell, chills up front playing candy crush.

Why are Tottenham so strongly linked with Damiao? He doesn't seem to have done much at all since bursting onto the scene a few years ago.

he occasionally gets subbed on to play near Neymar for Brazil, I assume people think he is absorbing some of his talent by proximity?

Who also doesn't have a fantastic scoring record, in a lets be honest.. Crap league.

Don't get me wrong, I used to rate him very, very highly, but he just hasn't improved much, if at all since he was 18/19.

Arsenal need some signings as we have been starved for too long. One of the most importantg things is that Wilshere remains fit and plays a lot of games. If he is injured all the time we need to look at replacements for him as you can't expect to compete for the league with probably your best player not playing.

Having said that even if he were playing all the time we would not seriously compete for the league. :(

Ince is going to Cardiff ain't he?

not many at all. seen youtube vids and that's it but the rumour of him to spurs started about 3 weeks ago and he has been a topic on spurs forums since. things now seem to be coming to fruition but, as snax has mentioned we are swamped with options in midfield but most of them are pretty pap. holtby i have high hopes for, sig, i'm not so sure. tom carroll looks a real prospect from the game time he's had, very good distribution and a cool head.

we've released bentley, livermore isn't good enough, hudd is too slow and parker has had his time with spurs now imo. falque i'm not sure will ever be a regular spurs player.
