On their day Celtic beat barca.

Bayern outclassed Barca, if you'd have said over the past 5 years sure. But at the moment Bayern completely annihilated Barca, it was pretty embaressing for them.

On their day Arsenal beat bayen, doesnt mean they are the better team. I wouldn't judge a team purely on a couple of games. I personally prefer barca and the way they play.

Whether you agree or disagree doesnt really matter, just my opinion.

Or maybe the window isn't even open yet?

Yeah there is that too.... I just would have thought that there would be more in terms of 'agreements' and maybe a few more signings between English clubs which I thought could happen outside of the window.

I'm assuming most have probably seen the BBC article on Paulinho saying he/Corinthians have received an offer from Spurs. Not quite sure what to make of his approach in coming out with it this way.

I feel inclined to agree with some people that maybe he's doing it to see if anyone else racks up interest and comes in with an offer. Who knows!?

Thiago is a really good player and like his style a lot. Only thing that I dislike is that he is goes to ground too easily.
Would he go straight into the 1st XI and can utd offer him the playing time he wants?

I hate any player going to ground too easily , but at his age that can be taught out of his system imo.

according to reports I have read , Thiago's dad/agent have been impressed with Moyes's description that he wants him as his Ut'd version of Arteta.

Within 1/2 season if not less he would be an automatic starter for the big matches along side Carrick (and maybe another, depending on formation)

Of course your choice is exactly that and nothing wrong with that - but the way Bayern took Barca apart in both matches also matters (as well as how they play week by week). Arsenal ALWAYS (well for the last 4 - 5 years maybe longer) follow a good victory by a bad loss, or even a string of bad losses.

Have you seen who plays in our midfield? :p

He'd be an instant starter

Says he played 27 games last season, obvioulsy not starting all. Sounds like a good run of games for a young player at the best team in the world.

How many minutes does he play in each of those games though?

RvP came on for Utd vs Everton in our first match last season.........for 2 minutes or so (as if even he can do anything with that length of time, from a game Utd were losing)

I don't know, he'd be up against Jones :p

Definitely sub material then - L

The transfer window has been open since midnight on the last day of the season.

People seem to confuse this with July the first, which is the earliest you can register new players.

why they do this, I have no idea.

Maybe because all the big clubs don't actually bother to make any announcements until July anyway

(no reference at all to Liverpool making 2 or 3 official announcements already, I promise :D)

He played a good 17-18 games 80minutes plus.

The rest were 10-15minutes sub appearances.

A few on at the 60min mark.

Enough to make him think he has a future there I would have thought. Could go either way, just a matter of where his heart lies.

Why would Thiago go to Utd??, first of all no Fergie and the chances of them winning the title next season arent exactly great as they have a new manager in charge Moyes, also why would someone leave sunny Spain for grim old Manchester:p.

I joke i joke before you Utd fans get all worked up:p...if he does sign then thats a very good signing...watched him in the U21 Spain squad and he looks decent enough plus when hes played for Barca, he has some potential in him.

Wish Real and Arsenal would get a move on regarding the Higuain transfer, i hope it doesnt end up being a long drawn out affair. I know Real want to appoint a new manager, think it will most probably be Ancelotti. All ive heard so far is Arsenal have gone there to sort it out and Real have sanctioned the deal...so FFS come on Arsenal and Real...get this transfer wrapped up so we can then go and sign some other players.

Well according to his contract it wasn't enough (I cant remember the exact details but something along the lines of 60% of minutes played - according to reports , which is why he is so cheap).

You also have to consider that first Fabregas and then Neymar both got his squad number in subsequent years (again according to reports), so that cant be encouraging for the player.

.

Certainly a better chance of winning something at Utd rather than Arsenal......... :)

And City's new manager has no EPL experience in the slightest - so you might as well count them out straight away :)

Latest on Higuain to Arsenal:

Arsenal are still in talks over capturing Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid, with Juventus also chasing his signature, according to his father.

The Gunners have been considered as front-runners for the Argentine striker since it emerged that he could be tempted into a move away from the Spanish capital.

Arsene Wenger is believed to have been given the green light to bring established names to Emirates Stadium this summer, with Manchester United's Wayne Rooney also linked to Arsenal.

However, Juventus are rivalling the North London club in the race to sign 25-year-old Higuain, who scored 16 goals in 28 La Liga appearances last season.

According to speculation, Higuain had agreed personal terms with Arsenal but his father, Jorge Higuain, has indicated that his son could also still move to Juventus.

"Nothing has been signed yet but I can assure you there are advanced talks between the clubs," said Higuain senior in the Mail on Sunday.

"We wouldn't arrange any personal contract before the clubs agree for the transfer. I'm aware Arsenal has made a strong offer, as well as Juventus."

Yeah because no manager has ever walked into a new league and won the title in the first season ;)

Im glad you didn't attempt any AW excuse lol

Baring in mind how little experience the team have of winning, its a fair bet.

Admittedly Maureen did (with the help of a few £££) but at least he had the attractions of London to assist any foreign moves.

Manchester has never had, and never will have, the same benefits (I got out as soon as I could, I will admit that for nothing lol)

Most media reported the contract details the wrong way round, 90 million falling to 18 million.

His release clause has always been 18 million euros however, it will still be 18 million euros in july.

If he plays the required amount of minutes and becomes a first team regular, then it increases to the reported amount, not falling because of x and y.

I personally dont believe that any player in their right mind would leave Barcelona to join Manchester United at this point in time, let alone one of spains hottest midfield prospects.
