Summer Transfer Window 2017/18 - Rumours & Signings

I wouldn't want him back for the amount he would cost. He is getting older, will be more injury prone and the PL is not the spanish league. He will get kicked from pillar to post. I want us to build for the future, not just a really expensive risk for another 2-3 years. I don't want another Rooney situation where we have a player on mega money who is holding the team back. He probably wouldn't be that but I don't want to risk it.

Seriously, if the english league is sooo damn tough, and way tougher than other top leagues, why couldn't England just bulldoze their way through the Euros, or the world cup, everyone else is weak ass little girls right, is shouldn't even be a challenge.

It's such a long repeated completely incorrect nonsense. First off ROnaldo gets seven shades of **** kicked out of him throughout the season, the league, the champs league and internationals.

he's monumentally better than anyone else at Utd right now, frankly he'd be the best player Utd had since this guy called Ronaldo, except this Ronaldo is much better than that version of Ronaldo.

As for the whole shirts thing, Utd won't make almost anything more from direct shirt sales, but in the same way they get a bonus from sponsors if they win the league, the same way they get a bonus for qualifying for the CL(or money removed if they don't qualify often enough might be more accurate) they will absolutely, 100% have clauses in place that major signings bring bonuses from sponsors.

In fact if anyone paid attention it was stated that Ronaldo I believe and Bale's signing both involved negotiating with sponsors who put some money towards the transfer fees precisely because of the increase value in their sponsorship in the club when it comes to having certain players.

Ronaldo being at Utd would 100%, no question lead to higher sponsorship income specifically because he signs for them and as with previous signings I would expect any club who signed him to directly deal with sponsors in terms of putting together a package to sign him in the first place.

Simple fact is though, take the current squad, add Ronaldo in his current form, you'd have probably come top 3, maybe top 2(still a year to build) you'd be much more likely to win the league next year and you'd be dramatically more likely to get to a later stage in the CL bringing in a direct immediate income return due to him being there.

I don't believe he will sign for Utd, I'm not sure he'd leave at all, even if he likes Mourinho he should probably realise how much worse Utd are than Real squad wise and he should remember that Real were drastically more successful in the years since Mourinho left.

Duncan Castles reporting Man Utd are plotting a Ronaldo return...

Hes off to Chelsea then lol.

Duncan Castles is a tool but in fairness is close to United. Im not entirely sure thats what United need but then if he costs 100 mil, scores 40 goals and wins united the league then itll2be well worth it.

No European club will pay that much.

£500k per week maybe.

He'll end up staying, I'd be very surprised if he didn't.

If you watch the footy today you will see, romaldo slower than ever before. Stands offside, walks back onside breaking up own team attacks. Falls over a lot.

He's a shadow of his former self

Is that even a serious comment? The spanish league is nowhere near as physical as the english league. Thats a fact. Players say it, managers say it, everyone says it. European referees are much more likely to give soft fouls and the general game is much cleaner than the english game. They give loads of soft fouls but there are less nasty challenges.

He really doesn't. He goes down at the slightest gust of wind like most of the players at madrid and barca. You're genuinely crazy if you think that a players career would last as long in england as in spain. Everyone said Zlatan was a risk at his age for the wages we were paying. Ronaldos wages would make him look cheap and thats without the crazy amount we would pay for him.

Heard rumour of a morata + Ronaldo for De Gea and a lot of money.

De Gea + £183m I've just read.

It's a good deal for Real Madrid. I'm not knocking Ronaldo but I think De Gea will earn more points over the course of a season than he will, he's also younger and a better long term prospect. I doubt United will hang onto De Gea much longer anyway though so why not try to get Ronaldo in return?

Ummm, what?!

He's nuts. People said that about Ronaldo in one or two games last year.

Slower than ever, utter utter tripe. Ronaldo all season long would make runs that honestly just about no other player is able to match. He sees an attack coming and frequently in a game sprints at absolutely top speed at the same speed as Bale at his absolute fastest and will run 40 yards to make it onto the end of a cross. There is barely anyone faster in the entire world of football right now... but he's slower than ever because he was offside a bit in one game. Thanks to Real Madrid winning the CL for two seasons and the Euros, there are very very few players who have played as much as Ronaldo in the past 24 months, there is no one else who finished the season as late as he did thanks to the CL final. It's summer, he likely hasn't trained much since the end of the season while most of the rest of these squads had a chance to rest for a couple weeks then train for a couple weeks before these games.

Oh and PS for The Running Man, Ronaldo had... it's such a weird way to put it what with the whole mother not involved... Ronaldo had/got two new kids like a week ago, maybe two. Two newborn twins after the best/busiest 24 months of any player in recent history and he's a bit tired, but sure TRM, he's slower than ever, embarrassing.
