Summer Transfer Window 2021/2022

I would have thought Kabak would been signed to fill Lovrens spot. Our biggest issue will be making sure VVD,Gomez and Matip come back from their injuries to their previous form so to speak.
We have Matip & Konaté as well as VVD and Phillips. Fab can play backup if necessary too.

Not to derail it too much but Matip whilst rate him isn't reliable due to injury.

I can't see Phillips staying know he will go back down the pecking order either, I can see a club coming in for him and offering him first team football

I could see Phillips moving on too, time is not on his side, he will already be 25 next season, he's done brilliantly at putting himself in the shop window but at 25 next season its questionable whether he is going to want to return to just getting the odd game here and there.

As I heard somebody say on a podcast yesterday, if Phillips doesn't want to be 5th choice he can leave but not until January. Phillips will be costing the club peanuts and it makes perfect sense to keep him (+ maybe even Williams) around until you're comfortable with with the recovery of VVD, Gomez and Matip. By January the club will have a clear idea of where they stand with all 3 and whether they're going to need a 5th or 6th CB.

In other news, there's a few reports coming out of Belgium linking us with Tielemans. No idea if there's any truth in them and there's certainly nothing concrete being reported over here but I like Tielemans and wanted us to go for him 2 seasons ago before he made his move to Leicester permanent.

he really went flat for many months right after he signed but has picked up towards the end of this season. I highly doubt Leicester will sell though. He's only 24 and coming into his prime so if Leicester do sell it'll be for a pretty packet, probably £60m+ which I doubt Liverpool will agree with. Mind you a couple of players like Powercube and maybe Wilson too and it could be £30-£40m which would be much more palatable.

Spurs looking at a Poch return  Kane said he's the only man he'll stay for?

Cant help but feel that would be a bad move from Poch. Would probably shut the door on any future ambition he has of managing one of the top clubs again.

Tielemans would be a good signing, especially with Gini going. Apparently he wants champions league football so is keen on moving on from Leicester but price will be key

The more I think about the Kane situation the more I wonder whether Spurs & Levy may privately be willing sellers. The pandemic couldn't have come at a worse time for any club more than Spurs having just spendt£1bn on a new stadium. With the covid loan Spurs gross debt is over £800m. To make things even worse, having previously, consistently qualified for the CL, they now face back to back seasons out of the CL and this season didn't even qualify for the Europa. Spurs finances have taken an absolute battering, more so (relative to what they expected) than any side possibly in Europe

Levy's a pragmatist and an accountant. This Spurs side needs rebuilding and at some point in the next few seasons Kane was going to need replacing anyway - it's far easier to replace Kane and rebuild that squad with £100m from the sale of Kane than with £30m in 2 years time.

Yep. I agree about Kane. I can see him going for less than the £100m touted too. I also think Spurs do well to cut their cloth and settle for mid table for the foreseeable. I think they're in a bit of trouble.

I've heard quite a solid rumour. Friend of a friend stuff, but he's been right before regarding City's transfers. Kane to City is done.

It is not rocket science. City is the only one that can afford him.

Yeah. I agree. Just saying. This rumour originates with a City/England player.

BBC reporting that Spurs are "in contact" with Pochettino. That would be an odd move.

Wouldn't surprise me if PSG are ditching him in favour of Zidane though.

They've also got a massive problem with Son. He's their only other world class player and will command a high fee as well. He's 28, soon to be 29, and might not want to wait around to see what Spurs do if Kane leaves.
