Summer Transfer Window 2021/2022

I'm surprised more people aren't expecting United to make some kind of offer for him. I know we have Cavani for another year now, but Kane is that typical striker who we could do with and i'd say with the money United **** away they definitely have it available.

As above though, whether he's worth it at the price it'd take i'm not sure. A few years ago maybe where you could amortise it over a longer period, but not at 28.

As you say, hes 28, a bit injury prone, will be uber expensive, we have young players to develop and we have other positions that need looking at more.

If this was pre-covid I would think we would be more interested but Levy will want crazy money and I don't think he is worth it. Hes also leaving to win stuff and when players say that, they usually mean that they want to go wherever the challenge is easiest and the trophies most guaranteed. City fits that bill. The only question is whether they will pay what Levy is asking. I'm not sure they will.

I think Kane will stay at Spurs for at least another year, maybe 2 and then find that his options are a bit limited and he has missed the boat.

I fully expect United to be interested but i dont think they should be. They'd be better off looking at a Sancho.

Kane is great, but he's no spring chicken and is somewhat injury prone. North of £100m isn't happening, I'd be very surprised indeed.

I'd rather we spent that sort of money on Haaland in that position. His agent is an issue though.

I wouldn't touch any Raiola clients with a bargepole. Clubs should basically stop buying his players until he either stops being such a **** or he loses all his clients.

I reckon anything over £80m for Kane would be madness for anyone.

That and he would probably demand double Kanes salary if you believe the outrageous numbers flying about.

The big risk with Kane is he becomes another Torres. Some players just don't age well, particularly players that have been absolutely flogged for year after year

Yeah, it's depressing as you start getting to mid 30's and now realise you're older than virtually all footballers!
When I noticed it was when players I'd seen starting their careers as teenagers were retiring, normally growing up you were used to all the players retiring 'pre-existing' your interest in football. So people like Robbie Fowler retiring was a bit of a culture shock.

The opposite is something like Buffon, who made Serie A debut over 25 years ago and is still playing in Serie A. He's the one we can keep clinging on to to feel young.

Many people criticise them for chasing money rather than sticking with their boyhood club or going to China but when your ‘career’ of a top earning footballer is really 24-32 years old and you either need to invest or save enough to cover your family for the rest of your and their life, is it any wonder? Not everyone will be like Mbappe, earning €400k a week at 19 or Ibra/Ronaldo earning €200k a week in their late 30’s. Not to mention being one bad injury from enforced retirement. Not every professional becomes a pundit and as a coach sure you might be on £100k a year like Big Dunc probably is as Everton but it’s a very, very short time to ‘feather your nest’ for what could be 60 years or more. The papers were slating Rashford for buying into property a few months ago and while I definitely disagree with buy to let I don’t disagree with his protecting his future.

I remember Parlour's debut, that never fails to make me feel old.
