Summer Transfer Window 2021/2022

Not going to lie, it gets harder to be fit as you get older but 90% of it is lack of effort. There are loads of guys in their 50s and older who are waaaaay fitter than I am and I would be in the top 10% fitness wise in this country quite comfortably.

That being said, its all downhill past about 25. They don't tell you this when you are younger but thats when you have peaked and it starts getting harder.

Want to feel even older? Go and actually try playing a game of footy in your 30s :p

I started playing again for the works team. All the sites from across the UK meet up for a tournament in the summer and I haven't played for a good ten years. I would say I am reasonably fit (don't drink or smoke) but as a 34 year old I was flat out knackered after ten minutes of playing football.

I never played to a high standard. Sunday League and a little dabble in the Peterborough school boys but the quickness of deterioration after just a decade is just mind boggling as my brain still wants to do things I just cannot do at this present moment in time.

Kane is a great potential signing for most teams, not many teams out there wouldn't want him - the question is whether he's still a great signing at the fee Spurs will want for the clubs that can afford that.

I can't see many clubs really digging deep outside of City wanting to replace Aguero with him.

Thing is, your buying at completely the wrong time.

5 years ago sure, even 3.

Whats he going to be worth 3 or 4 years from now at 30 or 31 years old?

The cost of 3 years of Harry kane including salary and transfer fee will be £120m+ . Then his value will be next to £0m.

Spurs ain't stupid they have extracted maximum value for every player they sold and few have been worth the price tag.

On the other hand you're buying a proven PL scorer who is pretty much guaranteed to score 20+ goals a season as well as pitch in with the creative side. Even if he's got no resale value that sort of proposition has to be appealing to the likes of Man City.

He will score bucket loads in a good team.

Can't really comment on his value and worth to City until we know how much it's going to cost them, but with the figures doing the rounds as guesses I think they are better off going for one of the younger players and paying 100+ than Kane. It's not like they are going to get 10 years out of him like they have Aguero for £35m.

70m and Kanes probably worth it, anymore than that and I think Spurs have done extremely well out of his service.

He is i cannot argue with that.

It just depends whether you are happy to write off £30m-£40m a year on one player.

I’ve always thought Ronaldo is a physical freak. 36 years of age and still has the engine of an 18 year old

I don't think he is. He's just a footballer who works hard to prolong his career as much as possible. Others clearly can't keep that motivation to stay clean living and train as hard for as long as he does. I think he's a mental freak rather than physical.

You still need to have some luck genetically to play at that level at 36. There are numerous examples of players who train hard and don't drink or eat crap who didn't make it far past 30.

Exactly.
He's probably got 5 years at his best left.

100M for that and they could win the title 5 years in a row or something lol
