Summer Transfer Window 22/23

Yeah, however I'd rate Cancello a full tier above Cucurella, my opinion of course. Is Cucurella really better than Chilwell? Before his injury I though Chilwell looked in exceptional form.

Whenever I have watched Chilwell he has looked great as well. Are they worried about his injury record long term?

Lot of money unless hes going to be first choice.

I am very optimistic about Ten Hag. However, our board have made a bodge of the transfer market, AGAIN.

We needed multiple new players and we haven't strengthened nearly enough.

I wanted them to be aggressive and decisive and they've been neither. OK, we don't want to be overpaying, and if someone like FDJ is too complex of a deal, find someone else. Have the scouting team/ETH seriously decided only FDJ can improve midfield? That's mad.

We're sort of coasting along and unless that changes it's going to cost us. Our current striker options are a wantaway Ronaldo and an inconsistent/injury prone Martial.

Still a few weeks left so we'll see what changes.

I think the issue with the FdJ deal is that EtH really wants him and United still think the deal will happen. Therefore stepping away now and getting a worse option seems silly. There aren't any concrete options that would cost a lot less money and guarantee a big improvement.

We are also stuck in the Ronaldo situation because we can't really spend big on a new CF when Ronaldo is still here, partly wages and partly game time.

I don't know how the season will go but I'm still really looking forward to it despite the obvious issues.

The problem with the FfJ deal is he doesn't want to come to UTD.

Yet we have wasted weeks and weeks pursuing this rancid deal.

The problem with signing a forward is that EtH has some kind of criminal attraction to ONLY his former players, and instead of really exploring the market he's clammering for a 70m unproven Brazilian from ajax.

If EtH had the cajones to buy players who aren't his ex players we would be 1000% better off by now.

I'm not sure that's true. He's owed £17m~ by Barca - it's an unusual situation.

I think he's going to go somewhere but maybe not United.

This is a bit of a shambles. It would be absolutely amazing if they can't register these players
I really hope they can't regardless of if fdj goes, a club that's in as much debt as they are and still even attempt to sign these players with the wages on offer is bonkers in itself.

I don't even get why players want to go there, when whatever they offer may not even get paid 12 months down the line when barca board come knocking and asking them to take a cut just so they can sign some one else.

Barca should go way of Leeds be financial ruined for a few years relegated and take forever to come back to any form of normal

It’s somewhat more complex than that. They aren’t broke, they have quite a lot of money right now as they have just sold large chunks of their revenue streams to investors. That’s why they have been spending big on new players in an attempt to “win” their way out of their predicament. The real issues will come if they can’t start increasing income from winning trophies and increasing their profile.

The issue with registering their players is to do with a salary cap I believe which again, isn’t wholly dictated by your current bank balance.

It should all get resolved one way or another over the coming few weeks I believe.

They were actually saying on talksport yesterday that Leeds were still waiting on money and would be starting legal proceedings if they didn't get it by Monday.

The way Barca are run these days is a disgrace, them and Real have always thought the rules don't apply to them but Barca are taking it too new levels now!

They've sold off 25% of their TV revenue for the next 25 years just to buy some new toys now, that is mental! In 2042 and the fans wonder why the club is isn't buying the player they want for 2 billion Euros will they remember they gave that revenue away for a quarter of a century to be able to afford old man lewandowski for a couple of seasons?!
