Summer Transfer Window 22/23

I don’t really have doubts about Casemiro. I’ve seen him play many times, including against the top teams in England and he’s always been very good. He’s 30 not 35 - could quite easily have 2 or 3 strong seasons left. Fernandinho managed it.

We have been lacking a good defensive midfielder for the best part of a decade and we’ve bought a ready made one.

I don’t really care about the finances as the Glazers bleed the club dry, so I’d rather more money was invested in the footballing side of things. Nothing is going to happen with the stadium and infrastructure until there’s movement on the ownership/shareholder front. Real Madrid wanted to keep him so wouldn’t have sold him cheaply. I think people forget what transfer fees look like these days, unproven players are going for a fortune.

It would actually be impossible to buy a lot of younger players in the hope they establish themselves. The negative attention the club gets is off the scale and the vast majority of players would struggle with that.

I think it’s quite telling most people were taking the **** saying there’s no way he’d join. Well, it looks like he is.

You should care about the finances. With such high wages we end up with ego battles around who is highest paid and overpaid players who we can't shift. We're not learning from past mistakes, this is the biggest worry. I think people are deluded if they think the next 10 years are going to be any different to the last 10 (whilst the Glazer$ are there at least).

Ce$$pit Unit£d Football Club.

Hactually, a more accurate description is Cesspit United Commercial Club. CUCC, very close to a similar word that is not allowed to be posted, how accurate that is...

I do in so much that I want the club to be run well. It isn't and we have no say in that. I am talking about the Casemiro deal in isolation.

Regardless of the finances we are getting an elite player in a position we urgently need to fill. One of many.

I think they should have pushed harder for De Jong, but he's in a very unusual situation with his owed wages. Should have just targeted someone else instead to start with.
