Supplements the debate/discussion thread

That's very specific!

On another note, the other day I ordered protein flapjacks from Myprotein to have straight after my workout in the morning. My god, how do they make them so dry and hard to chew? I only managed to get through half of one this morning and I love flapjacks!

And sure enough my packages arrived within that time scale. Thats 20hours after my initial order with emails updating about dispatch etc. Definitely recommend them.

Muzy are you trolling, I can't tell?

What exactly is 'wrong' with the quality? You do realise whey is whey even if it has ON on the label?

wow, so many people buying myprotien ? guys, the quality on myprotien can't be compared to ON, BSN brands.

i know its cheap, but why buying somthing useless ?

BSN and ON are overpriced even for branded stuff.

there is nothing wrong with myprotein, its the exact same stuff branded companies use. although myprotein has changed owners recently and a lot of changes are taking place and places like bulkpowders, ironscience etc may become better options now, but these non branded companies produce high quality stuff.

this is coming from someone who mainly buys branded products. im a gaspari myofusion man myself

cheers guys, I've sorted some creatine out now. I've got 30 pounds of tesco vouchers to get rid of, what good stuff online do they have in the way of sports supplements? I've seen a kg of glutamine for 25 pounds? worth getting?

Guys, clearly you haven't read the labels like me and Muzy. These branded products contain EXTREME ANABOLIC formulas. Their MAXIMUM QUALITY amino acid blends are INTENSELY REFINED, which ensures INCOMPARABLE ABSORPTION.

The end result? MAXIMUM MUSCLE MEGATROPHY™

Shall we try and avoid conflict here perhaps?

The issue here is quality, which doesn't vary between branded vs. bulk. Paying extra for flavour reasons is purely down to the individual, but it certainly conveys no other benefits in terms of "gains".

Problem with looking at it this way is that the 'quality' is un quantifiable, there is no evidence that 'better' quality whey gives more gains than the equivalent amount of lesser 'quality' whey. Let alone the fact that there is no particular standard for what constitutes high and low quality whey anyway.

Anecdotally i talk with a LOT of big lifters and universally they use a combination of bulk whey concentrate (or isolate if money no issue) and real food protein (high percentage real food). Although about two i think are sponsored and use brand names they get it free so why wouldnt you?

The whey probably all comes from the same producers anyway. As far as I'm concerned it's all the same, although I know you can by lower grade whey (typically 60% protein compared to 80%), but I think these can be a bit of a false economy too.

I think the best the branded wheys can do is boast a higher quality product from extra ingredients, but personally this adds no convenience as I'd rather just buy everything separately so I can add them when or if I see fit. From what I've read all of the more exotic added extras offer only very tenuous benefits at best.

Because I don't care what it tastes like, for me the bulk providers like MP are an obvious choice.

i found that synergy ISO 7 does not mix too well with milk, let me know how you get on.

also any specific reason for choosing animal pak? i find its far too expensive for a multi, better to go with opti men or orange triad tbh. animal pak is the best one on the planet though, but i personally dont think it's worth it, let us know if you notice anything from it or not to justify the cost.

I have used Synergy for well over 18 months i find it mixes great, very rare do i mix with milk unless macro count is a little low that day. I am big fan of PhD and tried Cyclone, AS, USN but find this far superior.

Also have been using Pharma HT+ for around 6 months. This will be the first time using the 6hr blend and Animal .

Also appolgies, the Animal is not the PAK its the STAK - the testosterone optimisers!

1 bag a day for 21 days;

Animal Stak, whilst im not a pharmacist or anything, i dont think any of the stuff inside that package has actually been proven to work. testosterone boosters/optimisers are a waste of money imo. in fact im pretty sure you have just wasted your money on it.

there is only a few supplements which actually "boost" or "optimise" testosterone and a lot of them probably cannot be discussed on here.

also i think Animal Stak has been invented to be used as a PCT most likely, which is the 2nd part of a bicycle, not the first.

basically this stack will make your testes work to their maximum potential, which unless you have some sort of "problem" or have done something "alien" to your body's normal system, should be working at their maximum potential anyway.

why did you buy this product?

next time i use synergy i will use less powder, i think i used too much tbh, i really needed a shake badly that day.

I bought the product based on reviews, i read a lot around the product including side effects. The results seem to be postive. Agree to certain extent one of the 7 pills can be used as PCT due its milk like thistle content.
