Yup, got some MP Milk Protein (Strawberry), Impact Blend (Strawberry), and Impact Blend (Chocolate).

The milk protein tastes of nothing, despite being bright pink, and it being milk protein is so grainy, you NEED flavour!
I have the unflavoured milk protein and its not the flavour thats bad, it's the grainyness of it. You might find it a little better blended.

as manly as I used to be, just chugging it down, after about 3 months of it daily (before bed), kinda makes me sick now! Will be buying some strawberry nesquick today for that, however, have ordered choc cookie phd whey aswell :D

I used some chocolate nequick before but think I used a tad too much as it was rather sickly/disgusting. I'll grab some more and try again I think.

Chocolate Cookie double scoops are immense! Can't beat the Belgian Chocolate 6-8HR though :)

Why buy unflavoured then buy nesquick? Or is it just for people who bought mass amounts of unflavoured before realizing a little bit of taste goes a long way :p
My phd is strawberry I think, its red anyway and that's nice.

I've got about 12KG's of chocolate smooth from MP. Which basically tastes like it 'used' to taste like chocolate. Just want to give it a little boost to cover up the oats.

I use the MP Impact Whey unflavoured. I don't see what most people's probelms are; yes it's not fantastic to drink but tbh it doesn't taste of much and I really don't mind it at all :)

Same for me. I find it acutally easy to go down and considering it's price compared to store bought ones like Maximuscle it's really good.

I can mix it with almost anything.

I usually add some to my oats in the morning since I don't take milk with it anymore. It really makes it more creamy :D

Yeah I used to put nesquik in it, but have now stopped, even with blended oats in it it tastes fine unflavoured if you're just necking it down :p.

Also I gave up on having milk protein at night, I needed to use far too much nesquik to cover the taste which can't have been good to use high GI carbs that late. Now I'd much rather just have cottage cheese. I use the milk protein now when making protein flapjacks :).

100g of whey in one go is pointless I'm afraid Dun. :) Sure you'll synthesis a lot of it, but so much of it will just turn to glucose and you're basically metabolising a very expensive carb from protein. It's just a waste of money frankly. However it's your money...

I'm not bothered about the flavour of whey as I tend to only have it on training days it's really a non issue. It's not a vital part of my diet. I have to say I agree with ben90 I'd rather have some pure good quality whey than have it laced with rubbish.

Oh and can we get off the habit of saying "I didn't feel any difference from whey" etc... As you won't - bar bloating or feeling full. It's not an anabolic compound. You won't "gain" anything directly from it. It's used as a supplement rich in protein and amino acids to increase your diet values. That's it.

Ye like I say I'm back to ~40 again, but it certainly didn't do me or my physique any harm for a few months :)

Anyone got any personal experience with beta alanine? I'm starting on 3 doses a day of 1.5g each along with my creatine.

Yeah I remember you saying, I just don't want you to waste your money that's all. Just looking out for my fellow gym rats. :) Taking a 100g of whey aas a supplement is fine (well personally I'd advocate a proper diet but we all know my thoughts on that :p :o) but just spread it out 3x a day rather than in 1 big hit - much more effective.

I'll give you my thoughts on BA when I get home - I like it, and have recently done a bit more research into it so will happily share my thoughts with you. :)

Ok, beta alanine - is typically sold as a pre work out sup as it gives muscles more strength and endurance as it helps produce carnosine. However it should be used post work out to IMO. It works synergistically with creatine it's a common stack and does, if cycled properly (i.e. at least 6 weeks, but no more than 8) can give good boosts in size and strength. When I say good, I mean good for a natural trainer. i.e. don't expect inches to appear on your arms, or 20kgs on your lifts. However it'll get you that little bit extra for sure - ALONG with a good diet plan - that is vital as you know.

So really you'd want to be taking around 10g of creatine a day, if you can't split it throughout the day just go pre and post workout 5g each time. For BA I'd go for about 2g per day, again split before and after with the creatine.

I picked up a KG of creatine to use on my next bulk when I last ordered from MP. Got about a month before I begin the first 'clean' bulk. So have a bit of time to do some reading.

Still chomping through EAA's & Leucine.

For some reason, probaly because I'm cutting & know I shouldn't have it, all I want to do is eat. Like insane amounts. I could probaly quite happily eat my weeks worth of food in 3 days if I could afford to! I'm not even hungry, I just want to eat!:(

I know that feeling mate!

How you getting on with EEAs and Leu?

It's tough to say really as I've been cutting and a lot of what I think is 'mass' may just be newly uncovered shape due to fatloss.

If you thought fishy burps from fish oil caps, EAA's are worse :p

Whilst I've not put on much if anysize other than on my tri's and lats from introducing more weight to bodyweight lifts I've not really lost anything either. Though again this is hard to judge.

One thing is for sure my legs have been up and down like balloons. Dropping a good inch down from 25.75" to 24.75" and are now back up to just over 25" after reintroducing some mass sets. Leg strength is still strong and quads are growing. I think a lot of what I lost was fat from the innerthigh and some abductor atrophy from ceasing to directly train them.

Having changed so much recently it's hard to judge but if I could go by my 'feeling'? My feeling isn't really worth anything other than a biased view that I've hopefully not wasted money! :p

I deffinatley went a bit OTT on my leg days working at around 90% of my 1RM for squats every 4 days for around 3-4 weeks was very taxing on my CNS and I realised this weekend. Had a bit of a healthy binge and calorie allowance went out the window. Ooo err gone a bit of topic here.

Leucine is so cheap, you could give pulsing a go over the duration of AGVT taking 2 grams 3-4 times a day. 1KG lasts almost half a year this way and comes in just over £20. Quite a strange powder it's almost oily and sort of slips around all over itself.

It's going to be a bit difficult for me to judge how I find them when I begin bulking too as my diets now much cleaner and lower carb, plus a different training routine. Hopefully though I might be able to comment when I finish them and see if I spot any progress slowing.

bit of an update from my order,

ended up ordering a few different things to try them out, most of us know what protein is and what it does etc, the main thing differentiating the brands/products are taste or little additions, and even though I'm going to put emphasis on taste, I bought them for their contents also.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Whey - Rocky Road - What a great flavour, coffee, sweet candy with a bit of choc. Very nice and different. This stuff is very fine and 'light', mixes up as easy as a mofo! (easier than any MP prod I've tried). This is my PWO whey. Wanted to try it as it has a bit of a premium on it and seems ever popular in forums/shops, and wanted to see what the fuss was about. Seems to have a lovely chunk of glutamine in there along with the other bcaa's.

Phd Pharma Whey - Strawberry Creme - Awesome, tastes like it's bad for you, can definitely live up to phd's rep for taste. This is my random/quick breakfast whey.

BSN Syntha-6 - Peanut Butter / Chocolate - another product known for getting their tastes right, SO NICE! it's like reeses cups! I was going to buy the phd 6-hour blend, but I only wanted a small (1.2kg) pack and this is a similar product (just...wish they told me the ratios! could well be 99% whey 1% casein/egg :/ ). Only thing puts me off is the amount of calories, 200 for about ~22g of protein. This is for just before bed.

There we have it, my new tactic to not get sick of having one flavour! I know it seems excessive, and a ton of you will just say 'down it ya woman, forget the taste'. But... I have no argument against that :P

These three I see pop up as the most recommended 'branded' proteins all over the place. They cost a little more, but they seem to take care of quality.

OH - and the nice chaps from cheapuksupplements gave me a sachet of Gaspari 'Size-On', an intra supp, anyone tried anything like this?

Kool stuff Kappa. I think it's worth trying something once if you're curious. If you can afford it why not. Although we both know just because it's more expensive doesn't necesarily mean it's more expensive.

Whilst the Phd 6Hr Blend is a bit more expensive you do get 80 single scoops or 40 servings )1 serving = 42 grams of protein). So you can make it go a bit further as I'm having half servings before bed due to cutting. I've not actually looked at the ratio's for Syntha 6.

Size-On is Gaspari's creatine, intended to be stacked with SP250, so I doubt you'll gather much from a sample other than taste/texture.
