Supplements the debate/discussion thread

You know what you're doing I'll give you that! My supps bill is significantly higher but I have money to burn and don't mind as such.

Nearer the time once I've done some reading I'll start pestering you for advice on my stack.

Make sure you have a safe holiday and a good time.

I'm not off till midweek next week. I always have a good time, and I try to stay safe! ;)

I've tried most supps over the past 3years and I've been honest to myself as to how they make me feel etc... Some work well together, others, not so much. I get a lot of advice from ESN, but also experimenting myself.

Most of my hardwork and money goes into my diet. Then I treat myself to supps when doing something extreme just to save my shopping bill if anything!

I don't spend more on supps as I just don't need them day to day, 2.5kg of protein lasts me 1/3rd of a year if not more. :)

Blasted through that lot didn't ya Benny?!

Haha, not really?

Brought it on the 8th of January and then started using it a few days later. Around 2-3 off/cardio days a week at the moment. Though do half scoop again/double sometimes.

Lasted around a month so can't complain :)

How are you finding the V-max PAz?

Got my last 1-2 scoops of SP250 left for my shoulder session tomorrow.

Its ok, been using it a week and as I've found with pre workout supps I always feel a bit more focused during my workout, whether its placebo or not though who knows :)

So far I prefer the superpump to this, but its a decent product.

Yeah. I've already got a tub of V-max under my bed waiting to be used. I'm going to wait until the end of March (when I start to bulk again) before using the next pump supp. Though I'm curious as to how SP250 would be when mass training as opposed to strength. Even though I did take 2 weeks to have a play with it.

Though I've already paid for the V-max so might as well use it!

Differences between pump supplements are a hard thing to describe when they all get you focused and pumped.

Glad you're not disappointed with it.

I made an interesting discovery yesterday after getting some phd pharma whey. For the last few months I have been using a 90cc scoop and having 1.5 scoops of mypro 80% whey every shake so that's 105g ish of protein :\ I have been working on the fact I was having about 30g hah. Backed it down to 40g see if I notice any difference, but I've got to say it goes against the "30g max" camp as I've never been so big and relatively lean with no other changes in my diet really.

Glad you brought that up tbh, many studies have shown that having 100g of protein a sitting has shown no negative effects as having 30g, as well it being beneficial to having 3 large calorie meals a day as apposed to the 100000 spread out like people worry about!

I personally prefer to eat big portions as it keeps me fuller for longer, although I usually tend to eat lesser portions and more of them.

I cut my whey intake down a while back when I realised I was getting plenty from my food. Dropped down from 3 scoops to 2. Usually one either side of working out. Though if I feel, like today, I'm sufficiently fueled I'll just keep the one for after.

I saw, not that I expected to, no difference from consuming less whey (bit obvious really) and it means it'll last longer too.

Phd products ******* rock for flavouring. They've got it absoluley bang on :)

Agree with that! Optimum Nutrition also seem great for flavouring.

MP have never been consistent, it's understandable, but sometimes it just lacks total flavour or is overly sweet!

but sometimes it just lacks total flavour

I found this with a sample from BSD. MP was the same, whilst it was still weak in flavour it wasn't as weak as the BSD sample I recieved. Not to say all batches are like that but a flavouring should give it some god damn flavour!

Yup, got some MP Milk Protein (Strawberry), Impact Blend (Strawberry), and Impact Blend (Chocolate).

The milk protein tastes of nothing, despite being bright pink, and it being milk protein is so grainy, you NEED flavour! The Choc whey is just too sweet, and the strawberry whey is just a little weak.

MAN THIS SUCKS! *throws toys out of pram and goes to order phd stuff*

Mate that's what made me stop using BSD. I had one weak chocolate tasted pretty much of nothing, then a super strong one like ridiculously too much flavour, then the final one tasted like sickly medicine... Yack.

I used to be like that, necking unflavoured whey in milk whisked with a spoon. It gets old, trust me :) I'd much prefer a few flavourings and sweeteners to make my whey palatable and dear I say it enjoyable.

Each to their own but still IMO, sacrificing flavour to not have the negative effects of aspartame and sucralose is well worth it, and nesquick doesn't make a bad shake either!
