Supplements the debate/discussion thread

There's no such thing as negative calorie food/drinks, but I know what you mean :)

And it was just the thought of someone eating a plate of ice that made me laugh
your body has to use energy to raise the temprature of the ice cold water
1pint of 0 degree water = -17.5 calories :D

probably more than those suposed fat burners actualy do which was the point i was making :p
if your drinking water anyway you might aswell drink ice cold water

Not worth it

£17.99 for the smaller tub on ebay, old formula. About £38 for the larger size from the same place.

Edit:
£15.99 on Amazon.

Yeah I seen that. Is the new formula really worth the extra?

Doubtful.

@ Arigold, your workout, weights wise is pretty terrible. Look into starting strentgh or read the old sticky.

10 minute joging & running
3x10 dips 3x10 chipups
3x10 bicep curls
10 minute running
1000m Rowing
-
45 minute spinning class

I'm going to assuming above isn't enough?

So I'm looking to get something like this
Your workout is very poor.

You need a whole routine, that works all of your muscle groups. Legs, back, chest, shoulders...

It's only terrible due to the lack of back and leg work really :p

Arigold: Are you wanting a weights routine? Or are you attempting to go for a cardio with Bodyweight exercise route or something?

Thank you for the feedback.

I'm 'attempting to go for a cardio with Bodyweight exercise route'

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17401146 - Seems to be ideal for a begineer like me.

I play football a lot so I can do with more power in sprinting and also weekly mountain biking so looking for endurance.

I think I need to research more, thanks anyways

EDIT: I'm hoping none is going to ask me to post a picture of my 8pack body? :) :(

...and structure, and balance...

What's your point?

Theres nout wrong with it (sorry mis-read, nout wrong with just wanting a cardio / BW based routine, the original routine was odd I agree :p ), this may be a gym orientated thread etc, but theres plenty of 'boot camp' style fitness regimes around that work.

No, you won't become a bodybuilder using it, thats not the point of them :p

If you want to be a faster sprinter you really need to be working your legs

increased muscle cross section --> strength --> power --> speed

Squats, cleans, snatch, etc. All technical lifts but they're the best. You'll need to do single leg work too for increased power delivery and steering/control. Bulgarian split squats would be my vote.

If you're trying to cut, fix your diet.

That just not true!

You're making that statement without looking at his goals at all.

A cardio/BW routine would only "work" to increase endurance and very limited hypertrophy and stability.

I was merely asking originally what his goals where, as his original routine pointed towards him to wanting to do more cardio based work as opposed to weight training :)

Thanks. As well as sptrinting, I want to build on my upper body so I don't get knocked over like ashley young (i'm hoping this isn't going to turn the thread in to something else other than supplement debate)
