Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Fat burners are very good, provided you find one that works well for you.

Id be a narky bugger if i didn't have my dexaprine whilst on this diet.

Really helps in elevating my mood, and the reduction in any cravings helps, the fat loss bit for me is just a small part of it tbh.

If i really wanted to strip fat that bad, id just go straight in with dnp anyway.

if you want a fat burner eat ice or drink ice cold water whenever you need liquids.

it lowers your core temprature and increases your metabolism and doesnt cost a lot of more for something thats likely doing nothing

You could also not each as much food. This has a number of benefits over... eating ice.

Rofl...what?

Are you seriously telling people to eat ice?

Eating ice cubes is a technique often used by anorexics to suppress hunger (not to burn calories from keeping warm - you could just stand in a cold room for that).

If chewing some ice cubes helps to prevent you needing a snack or help you handle eating an extra 100 fewer calories per day that can equate to about 0.5lbs of fat loss per month. Doesn't seem that much sillier than knobbing £30 a month into PHD Turbo-Mega-"Ronnie Coleman was paid to say he used this once"-Fat-Melt potions.

I guess it could help with energy for training:D

There's no such thing as negative calorie food/drinks, but I know what you mean :)

And it was just the thought of someone eating a plate of ice that made me laugh

I imagine is plausible that consuming enough freezing cold water can have a net calorie deficit. But it seems too insignificant to bother with.

Is there sitcky or links users can provide for begineer like me?

I began going to the gym 3-4 times a week. I weigh 67kg and 5.8ft. Play football & do mountainbiking. I looking for expolosive power, quicker recovery and bigger built. My workout is mostly sprinting, free weights, rowing and spinning classes. I had a chat with some guy at Holland and Barrett and recommended 2:1:1 Recovery:

Damn that is expensive!

CNP Recovery is 50~ for 5kgs or alternatively buy some whey and dextrose.

I got mine from maxiraw.com - mostly as they had an order on.

Hay gaiz.

I'm about to make important changes to my diet, with the odd bit of supplementation here and there, combined with stepping foot in a bodybuilding gym for the first time in my life and get myself from urgh to Zyzz (no getting 'joocy' though).

So far from my internets expeditions, it seems like Omega 3, Vitamin D(3... and I definitely don't get enough sun!) and whey are all I need, assuming a balanced diet is executed (and yes, I've seen the triple strength simply supplements Omega 3 and the D3 on the rainforest posted a few pages back). The whey I could technically get from eating more solid food but given my job and general lack of time it'd be much more convenient to neck a shake or stir it into oats in the morning etc etc, plus it'll make a change from glugging water or black coffee all day. I was probably going to get all the Impact Whey samplers for 99p and see what tastes good and what makes me gag.

Also, are MP's oats the oats to get? I seem to remember them doing ultra-fine scottish oats but they just have 'oats' now. Where'd y'all get dem good oatz cheap?! Please.

I'd throw in creatine too. It's cheap, has lots of good evidence behind it, unlike 95% of all other supplements. Even some of the recent evidence on n-3's and Vit D is looking a little shaky and strange. Whey, creatine and caffeine are the best supplements you can be taking that don't require a syringe.

I just have the unflavoured whey and put a couple of scoops in water. It doesn't taste great, but I literally chug it in 4 seconds and I'm done. I don't like sipping on protein shakes, even if they're flavoured, as that takes away time I could be sipping coffee.

Sweet lord that's expensive.

Just buy whey to supplement your protein (to around 160g per day) and eat more. Try www.myprotein.co.uk, click on the price matcher and enter "www.ironscience.co.uk".

Use "MP96516" when you sign up for 5% off your first order :)

What do your workouts actually consist of?

10 minute joging & running
3x10 dips 3x10 chipups
3x10 bicep curls
10 minute running
1000m Rowing
-
45 minute spinning class

I'm going to assuming above isn't enough?

So I'm looking to get something like this
