Supplements the debate/discussion thread

+1 Begbie. Sure i may not need it but there's no denying it helps especially after a long day.

Same way I feel, I come in straight after work and neck it if I didn't feel like going to the gym before it then I certainly do after.

What do you use, I presume you can't use Jack3d?

I use MP pulse with an extra 50mg or so of caffeine. It's not the most potent thing out there for sure but it was cheap and is pretty effective :p I want to give jack3d a go next time or if not maybe superpump.

There's no such thing as fat strippers, only wallet strippers.

Eat less calories than you burn and workout at the gym 3-4 times a week. No magic pills, sorry.

I disagree...

Only because I think if you have your diet locked down, and a solid workout/exercise regime, they can play a part

They're never going to make you drops loads more than you normally would, but they can definitely give things a little boost. My weight loss spiked for the first couple of weeks I started taking them last year during my prep, then steadied out as my body got used to them and my metabolism adjusted, but those few weeks they did help made a difference

Go on then enlighten us, what 'strips fat' exactly?

I never said they strip fat

But they can aid in weight loss, which is ultimately losing fat. Before you go off on me again :p, please read that I said they can play a part, not a big part, but a part none the less. Like I said, they're never going to make you lose fat on their own, but supplemented along side a solid diet and workout plan, they can give you a slight boost

Because you just totally wrote them off and said they are a complete waste of money or "wallet strippers", that's what I disagreed with. They are all called Fat Burners or Fat Strippers, but they all essentially metabolism boosters via caffeine and other ingredients that can help with weight loss

And mate, I was kidding about the going off thing, does no one recognise ":p" anymore :(

Caffeine can have it's uses yes I agree, but that's not what we're talking about, just drink a cup of coffee?

Lets put what I'm getting at into perspective. Something needs to be of value and worth buying otherwise it's worthless?

Some Fat stripper supplement might get something like an extra 0.5lb of fat loss over a 2 month period and I'm being kind there, I don't think they manage that much. How much would this supplement cost?

The only ones that work are the ones that are banned, they're banned because they work but at a cost (health?) Even the ECA stack which is pretty damn potent you're looking at a 5% boost in fat loss... so what are you getting from Maxihustle SuperFatMelterTurbo? Much less, down to placebo levels??

Bang per buck they aren't worth the plastic tub they're served in imho. They strip your wallet much more effectively than they do anything else.

Hmm while I agree that money can be better spent, if you can afford them, and they can be cheap (£25 for a months worth for example is what I'm currently paying for Lipo 6) and you have a really decent diet and exercise plan in place, then AND ONLY THEN they are worth getting imo. I think the same about pre workouts, people spent £20-30 a month on those, and to be honest, I fail to see the point, yes they can make a difference if you're feeling like ****, but taking them every day? If you're motivated enough, you don't need something to make you want to train

And also, yes you could just drink coffee, but they don't just contain coffee :p for example, the thing that really helps me is the stuff that raises body temperature and suppresses your appetite (which is a real bonus for me on a pre contest diet), it's those little ingredients that can add that slight boost

Maybe in the context you are now talking in ;)

In the context of the post I replied to "I need to lose weight and tone up" I think my reply was valid. There are no magic pills to strip fat.

Shall we agree on that? :D
