Supplements the debate/discussion thread

They also recommend creatine but sounds a bit dodgy.

Not sure if I recommend Creatine or not.... I'm just coming to the end of my stack at the moment which I thought I'd try out ((Phd VMax and Optimum Nutrition Vassive-C5 (CEE)).

Maybe because the change isnt drastic or I just dont see it. I have put on about 4kg since I started at the new year (up to 80kg now). I'm guessing a lot of that is water, and I have been eating a bit more than usual, so some fat also I guess.

My lifts have improved aswell, but I'm not sure I'll put that down to the creatine, since I've been working really hard this year. I think the only creatine I'll be ingesting in the future are the ones in pump products (they all seem to have it!), I dont see myself buying a standalone product just for creatine.

No harm in trying, other people say it works well for them.

Halfway through April I might have a crack at SP250 :D Cant wait!

edit - as Benny just said, I havent really 'seen' results. :p

I found chocolate smooth in the impact blend to be very bland and vague. My reason for sending 9KG's of it back!

Oh bugger. Well it arrived few days back and i'm finishing off my unflavoured stuff before i get started on it. I'll post back in about a week either happy or annoyed that i didn't get samples :D

Good reviews btw :)

on that note, some chap was being talked to at the gym by the manager and someone else, being told to leave and not come back, the chap was nearly crying, I heard talk of the police and injections...

What type of gym is it?
I wouldn't worry about the choc smooth, impact cs is my normal whey with full milk (can't stand it with water).

Roid:

It doesn't taste bad just wasn't as strong as I'd of liked. Doesn't seem to matter how much water you add to Phd products the flavour is always spot on and strong.

On the topic of creatine I brought some monohydrate to try when I start my bulk. I'm not convinced but like with most supps it's something I wanted to try and decide for myself.

Also pondering some Taurine for my bulk stack as it's cheap.

I swear internet shopping is the devil!

Grabbed some:

More samples of Pure Whey to make my mind up
2000 '00' Size caps, as I need to finish capping my Leucine (with lots of caps left over!)
1KG Taurine
500 Grams Beta-Alanine
5cc Scoops, so I have one for Taurine, BA & Crea-Mono.

Worked out my supps routine just now. I'd appreciate it if people could give this a quick once over.

New additions: Taurine, Beta-Alanine, Creatine Monohydrate.
Waking
9AM: 2 Tripple Strength Fish Oils, 2.5grams Leucine.

Pre W/O:
3PM: 25 Grams Whey, 40 Grams Oats, Water
4PM: 20 Grams V-max, 3 Grams Beta-Alanine

Post W/O
6PM: 50 Grams Whey, 40 Grams Oats, 350mls Milk, 2.5 Grams Leucine, 5 Grams Creatine-Mono + plenty of water.

Bed
10/11PM: 2.5 Grams Leucine, 50 Grams Pharma Blend, 2 Tripple Strength Fishoils, 4 Grams Taurine.

I'm aware the V-max already has Taurine & BA (1.5grams & 500mg) so until the tub runs out intake will be boosted and then the BA will remain. Possibly adding some AAKG.

Creatine Mono I've read & been told post workout is best. I'll load for a week with 10 extra grams split upon waking/before bed. This sound about right or should I load with more?

Taurine I've been told before bed though am not sure if perhaps pre-workout would be good/necesary.

I know this looks a little heavy guys and I guess it is. The next bulk is going to be a good one. Armed with bang on nutrition, decent training, plenty of rest & plenty of knowledge I'm hoping to make some considerable gains in both strength & size.

C&C welcome

Clearly, it's all about the gunz innit! ;)

yeah i just thought it would be hard to drop a dumbell on someones face when their standing up! lol

Trust me, where there's a will, there's a way ;)

My goodies arrived this morning.

I tried True Whey again in Toffee Fudge & Chocolate Orange.

1 serving 1:1 with oats & a teaspoon of cinnamon.

Both tasted brilliant. But the Toffee Fudge wins as the chocolate orange is quite orangey and I found I had orangey burps for quite a while. The consitency of the TF was also nicer and the flavouring closer to what it's meant to ressemble.

Also tried a double serving of each, both still gorgeous, the chocolate orange tasted better as a double serving but then again so did the Toffee Fudge! :D

Toffee fudge sounds mint as a shake!

Makes a nice change from chocolate :)

The chocolate orange is nice too. Strange to get a hint of orange when drinking whey, doesn't seem right!

If the shake is thick enough then it does taste eactly like drinking melted Terry's Chocolate Orange.

I honestly get confused by this whole flavoured Whey thing, if you're chugging it down in a few seconds why does it matter? I've only ever used unflavoured and I mix in raw oats all the time. The only thing I do to improve the flavour is chucking in a banana and usually i don't even do that

I always thought the same, but now I've found some good flavoured stuff which costs me little more than unflavoured. It's nice to use as a little sweet treat when your dieting

Maybe it's just me but if I eat more intensely flavoured foods/drinks, then I have a harder time eating some of the more bland foodstuffs that we have to eat, canned tuna etc. I keep my diet quite bland out of choice so I don't miss the sweet/salty things I can't have. Maybe other people have more willpower than me :p

I find I'm the same, I've stopped eating as many sweet things and now I dont have ketchup etc with eggs and I tend to taste things more =/.

I have unflavoured whey mainly for the price difference, however it's not particularly unpleasant and tastes better with oats :).

I like flavoured whey because I like being able to taste 'treat foods' but without the negatives associated with them.

I agree it shouldn't matter if you're chugging it down but to me for some reason I prefer a flavoured whey.

Generally I'm in the mindset of if it's good for me I'll eat/drink it if I can stomach it. Neither is better than the other and if you can afford the flavouring fair doos likewise if you don't want flavouring then that's fair enough too.

Esporta, you know, tennis courts, swimming pools etc etc, like a Virgin Active

*ashamed!*

That explains it then. Don't be ashamed, if there is no where else that you can get to then you have to make do :)
