Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Have you got data sheets, and ratios of amino acid and AA profiles? Where are you purchasing your whey from and what mixes are you making? Interested in all the info.

I only buy supps with all those criteria available to me. :) Feel free to email me in trust. Or are you just a reseller?

Sorry Freefaller i missed this!!

Im a reseller, at the moment!! I do have a few friends who have just made their own protein blend and im interested in the idea.

Only problem is they feel they can charge £35 like all the well known established brands and compete

Nuuuuuuuuuuuuupe

Sell it lower, and get a good fan base, If you're making profit, the cheaper offerings will sell more anyway.

Just had a look at this, 26 servings, 3 a day that will barely last two weeks for £47!

Seems a bit expensive!

I got it cheaper at swift supplements. Not cheap of course but I find it replaces meals for me. So that takes the edge off the cost.

It's good though. Feel strong on it. I know I would feel the same getting the essentials through diet but it's convenient.

Just had a call from MP.

"Hi Matt, just giving you a call about your recent order of pulse v4. Our suppliers have just informed us that the scoop size is wrong, and not to use it. We can send you a small scoop if you want"

"I'm OK thanks, I just measure it out on the scales."

The scoop they actually sent was a large MP scoop, and the directions are take 6 mp small scoops, about 17g. The large scoop they incorrectly sent is about 25g... I hope people use some common sense and don't assume the wrong scoop is correct and take 6 scoops of it!

Are protein shakes any more effective at honing the physique than ordinary food?

For losing fat, no. Liquid is the least satiating way to consume calories, and when on a calorie deficit, you want every calorie to fill you up as much as possible.

For gaining muscle, maybe. If you're having difficulty consuming enough calories from food, shakes can help for the same reason to avoid them when on a calorie deficit.

Anyone used Shred Matrix? It's a musclepharm thing. A guy from uni recommended it after (apparently) losing 60lbs+. A biomed graduate friend of mine says it looks ok too. I was just wondering if anyone had any first hand experience?

Got mine this morning and had my first try of it today.

Must say considering the amount of powder in it - it tastes quite nice for a chocolate shake - most chocolate flavours have been either rank or chalky.

On the other hand it didn't mix well - this is probably my mistake it went into a just washed and not fully dry shaker which then had milk added to it a bit later - the powder mainly stuck to the bottom and i had to scrape it off with a spork after that it didn't seem to want to mix at all.

Ended up drinking it and semi chewing lumps of powder bleurgh - if thats how bad it mixes normally i will finish this container (4kg) and look to something else.

Definitely put liquid in first mate. I always mix mine with 500ml of water and it mixes completely. No lumps or anything.

I use a blender ball in my shaker cup. Ive always had issues with powder in bottom of a slightly damp cup as it sticks solid to bottom like you described.

This. I always put water in the shaker first then add the powder on top, mixes perfectly fine this way.
