The RI radio has to be paint-by-numbers indie, or pop. Anything remotly heavy, challenging or involving cannot be played there. It's kinda like the rules, man.

RI radio = River Island Radio, not radio1. Sorry for the confusion. My point about radio1 still stands. I'll quote it so you can see what I wrote.

My point was that when Radio 1 (i'm hoping it was the Zane Lowe show, if not then it's worse than I first imagined) get their teeth into something, so does the rest of the world. This in turn leads to either one of two things. The band rides their current burst of fame and thrives on it (arctic monkeys, for example) wheras others fall under the pressure. tool have been going for years with a dedicated fanbase, so I doubt they would be affected by this. I hope the wouldn't anyway. Them getting more fans is a good thing.

I wasn't upset that it was played on radio1 due to their listeners. In fact, as you can see, quite the opposite. I'm glad they're likely to get new fans.
 
ok, i'll retract my previous statements and my rolleyes.

should use proper words though :p

i assumed the I was for "one", i use roman numerals nearlly everyday, so its kinda easy for me to make the mistake lol.

Got my copy today in Golden Discs in Cork. Was looking to see if Vicarious single was in and was told "No, but we have the new album". The guy behind the counter seemed a bit puzzled when I mentioned that it is not due for release until next week. Who cares...it's outstanding. So far, after a few listens in the car and at work, the tracks that stand out for me are Vicarious, 10,000 Days, and The Pot.

Maybe it's because I just got the CD today and it's fresh new music, but I can't think of any other band that takes your expectations and goes way beyond these, and in the process shatters any fears you might have had that the new material might not been as good as anything released previously!

Even the CD packaging is amazing! Special glasses built into the case to enable you to see the artwork in 3D!

In annoying news, my main CD player has chosen to pack up. So I'll be running my walkman CD player through my good amp/speakers.
