T-Mobile HSPDA - 380KBPS?

Have just tried calling T-mobile only to be told everything is set up as it should. I asked what the differences between W&W and W&W+ only to be told that there is no speed throttling on T-mobile and the only difference is the MB allowance!

Oh, well - will have to try again......

See my post. You made the same error i did.

Call them back and ask them to investigate why you're getting such shoddy 3G speeds. Mention that it's ALWAYS 350kbps and "it's almost like something is holding it back or limiting it".

Don't mention anything to do with web and walk - if you have to, mention someone you know (you mum, girlfriend, boyfriend, dog) has a phone direct from t-mobile and is on the 3gb package and they get 2mbps side by side with yours only getting 350kbps.

I work for orange. 2G is shared. 3G/HSDPA is not - but is in trial.

3G sharing is taking longer to fix because the networks use extremely different setups (and releases) and are run by different companies - NSN on one side, Ericsson on the other.

Is there a time frame for this being completed? TBH i'm finding T-Mobile have much much better 3G/H coverage than O2.

Well I cant wait till its H on both networks. I get a good Hspda signal generaly, but if it flicks to orange because signal drops for a second I find myself clicking "auto network select" to restablish H; It just stays on orange for ages!!! when there is a perfectly good H signal waiting to be used :(

See, this is why I wont touch t-mobile. All these speed caps, 380k on the standard data plan and whats with the 2meg cap on web n walk +? Poxy!

I get around 6meg down and 2meg up on a 3 sim only rolling contract with 2gb allowance :)

I agree, the caps are pathetic, other networks don't need to impose them, why do t-mobile see fit to?

It wouldn't be that bad, if they were just completely open about it.

Ideal world - this year. Realistic - Probably next. I sorta hope they get HD Calling working cross network too as its fantastic. In my own opinion T-M do have the better 3G network than o2 but the reason is because they share a lot of it with 3. O2 honestly never really had a decent high speed setup, they were always lagging the rest by a considerable margin and are really only now starting to sort it. They used to come last/second to last for years in surveys the industry took to measure bandwidth and the reason wheeled out was network expansion to cover the iPhone demand which makes a lot of sense - it just affected their ability to sort out HSDPA coverage. All my own thoughts, not my companies etc...

Well O2 were slated by OFCOM a few years back, and I think fined too. All in relation to their 3G network.

I enjoy great coverage by T-mobile, the company just needs to be open about capping speed. Companies these days are usually open and transparent, at the least the modern ones, so i'm not sure why t-mobile hide this.
