Tabletop Warhammer?

If I don't get an update within the next couple of days I'll start chasing them up on it. My order from THW took a while to go from accepted to dispatched, though, so I imagine unless I buy direct I'm going to have to get used to this.

Funnily enough, the payment hadn't gone through on my credit card on thursday either. I ordered a week before. If i don't get anything by the end of next week, i'll give them some hassle. Tbh i'm in no rush as I have far too many figs to paint as it is!

Hey chaps, updated the campaign quite a bit putting in a lot more (though not all) of the stuff I intended as I had a little time spare.

Stole your Warlord table Shami :p

Put a lot of the campaign and scenario names and details in and the rewards etc I envisaged.

Shami we should can meld the two when I have finished all the updates and see what we think?

Campaign looks really good. Count me in! I'll happily play Guard or Chaos.

I don't like the warlord rewards though as it will make certain characters become ridiculously overpowered and other armies are unlikely to ever get such rewards. (Imperial guard company commander I'm looking at you)

If they are going to be used, I would limit it so you can have 1 reward for the next battle rather than them stacking over a whole campaign.

I put in the 3 victories thing as well to allow the likes of less skilled commanders to get power ups.

So whilst you wont go ***** slap down a Chapter Master getting a few victories for your army gets you better too.

Not really sure to be honest, everyone else can have a look and see what they like/don't like and anything they suggest.

I'm not sure about 11 rounds though. It would take months. We'd need to finish a round before moving onto the next and the current league is only 5 rounds effectively and that's taken a good month and a half ish? couple in 3 all player games and it would take ages.

What is the end result? It seems like the path is decided but then there is another two games to be played, can the losers at that point turn things around?

I think it would be a good idea to randomize players into good and evil and then they can choose an army from the options (surely one of the 6 armies will interest them!) that way we can have even teams. For example using our current armies it would be one on five if we just let people choose!

I like your team rewards though, not too sure about veterancy, I think it should be always random.

I'm not sure if it will. Think of how many times we've had a warlord kill another warlord in League 1....I think it's happened once/twice?. Urien killing the Succubi in the all Dark Eldar game. It may be a little more common with challenges but it still requires them both being in the same area of the table

End result is decided by the last battle, the varying paths are just different ways of getting there offering different options dependant on how your team performs.

At the end level even if it's heavily Imp favoured and the Chaos win they still win overall but it would be a narrow victory rather than an outright if that makes sense?

11 rounds would take quite a while but if you are having army rewards/veterancy/warlord improvements you want it to last a while so your army/characters can develop and let the narrative unfold. If it's over too quickly it takes away from the point of their being a real narrative to it. Just my 2p of course :D we can develop everything and let people have input and see how it all looks at the end :)

An easy way to cut down on 11 rounds I could easily remove 2 or 1 of the large scale battles as they are probably the biggest killers time wise and logistically too.

Just to put it in perspective, it's taken almost a month to do essentially two rounds with 6 players. Eleven rounds with ten players? You're looking at 6 months or longer. I'd rather do a shorter campaign and then do a third. The longer it is the longer you have to play with the same army and the more difficult it is if someone has to drop out (and the longer people have to wait if they want to join)

Honestly I think we should combine your narrative with my mission tree (just the basic shape) and mix in some of the mission types you've come up with with some of the ones out of the Battle Mission books (there are some interesting ones in there)

I think the problem is people still learning the rules etc.

The game I had with you Shami was over in around 2 hours MAX where as all of my others have taken 3 to 4 hours.

It was faster because I remembered a lot more of my rules (Although struggled to remember I hit on a 3+ most the time :P) The more people play, the faster the games will become but 6 rounds may take a while still
