Tabletop Warhammer?

Nothing is finalised yet but that's what has been proposed. (We could potentially have flyers but just have them as fast skimmers instead as they were in 5th)

For season 2 campaign yeah.

Probably no special characters if we are having warlord traits and improvements.

I'm modifying things quite a bit to get the best of both so bear with me, have a few days away with work so will try and tackle it then.

As should Typhus ;)

Typhus got Royally pwned in the Necrons game :( Well he did some damage first then got taken out by a squad of wraiths :( Rending and Instant death is the bane of his existence.

Just made a 500 point CSM army :) Surprisingly it contains Typhus :)

Would be quite happy with that, depending on which army I play (or get to play). :p

No special characters, eh? Well, there's one of my plans out of the window! :p

Yeah I'd be happy with that.

I think special characters should be allowed, their stats aren't much higher than standard HQ units and they're points wise pretty fair.

Special Characters should be allowed, there's only a few in the game that are absolutely retarded and would get focus fired by most things anyway... For instance running a Swarmlord in a 500 point game* >.<

*Not sure if possible

We could say no special characters in the 500 point games (this may be a kill team rule anyway) along with no vehicles above AV12.

if the rewards overpower them then they're equally capable of overpowering a regular HQ.

Edit: Kill Team doesn't even allow HQ's!, problem solved. We'll ammend it for the increase in points though. I'd say:

0-1 HQ (no special characters)
0-1 Elite
1-2 Troops
0-1 Fast Attack
0-1 Heavy Support

No vehicles above AV 12.

For Clarification what about the necron vehicles that are AV11 but the shield boosts it to 13? and will this be 5th or 6th edition rules? lol

Having read the kill list rules and thought about the fluff a little, I like the thought of 500pts being a scout force sent ahead of the army rather than a shrunk down standard army list. I wouldn't include HQ units. They would be back with the main force or commanding from an HQ base.

For a 1v1 500pt game:

0-1 Elite
1-2 troops
0-2 Fast Attack

No vehicles above AV 12.

Though if the 500pts are in a multiplayer game then Shami's list seems spot on.

aha good question.

technically they are AV11 and are then boosted to 13 by equipment in battle so you could argue you can take them. Personally I would say they are allowed but you treat it as AV11 increasing to 12 with their shields.

if not then Necrons would be allowed no vehicles! (others are flyers)

Yeah standard on all but the flyers (and the flyers aren't that good as skimmers, too expensive, I doubt anyone would take them)

I won't take Necrons but someone else might :p

Just been doing some research and the Necron vehicles are actually AV11 but ACT as though they are AV13 so even in these games would be classed at AV13 until they take a penetrating hit OR are assaulted then they are AV11

Well the shield only exists in the moment it is shot so it is only AV13 when shot so the shield doesn't count when assaulted and vanishes the moment the vehicle takes a penetrating hit.

So If you shoot and penetrate but do not destroy its then AV11 for the rest of the game. If you assault and do not penetrate its still AV13 when shot at but if you do penetrate in CC then its AV11 when shot at.

I knew it didn't count in assault (all combat is against rear armour which is 11 anyway) I thought you meant it disappeared as soon as it was assaulted, as in not usable for the rest of the game.

Thank god, thought I had the rule wrong in the tournie :p
