Tabletop Warhammer?

I'm having 80s/90s flashbacks. I had no idea this was still popular? still lead figures? Gene stealers, Dreadnoughts? Blood Angels?

I remember all the magazines with the cool scenery of Blood Angels armies and tanks and so on...

Ultramarines are the poster boys now

Not lead, either plastic or resin. Other than that, still the same universe.

That was quick. I haven't even picked a HQ yet! :p

Well Haemonculi is an easy choice :p

Lightning not great but my next WiP more photos to follow tonight.

Also can you use the Chaos Chosen as troop choices? Battlescribe says I can but I cant see anything in the codex to say I can.

So, last night I finished Horus Rising (Dan Abnett) and started False Gods (Graham McNeill), only on the second chapter but I much prefer Abnetts style so far.

Horus Rising would make for such an epic film, especially the last 2 chapters with the interex(?). Shame no studio would ever do it justice.

Yeah Horus Heresy would be an amazing film series, never get the funding though.

Is this your first time reading? You've got quite a series ahead of you :D

I can't wait for Vulkan's book.

The first three books of the HH series would make an awesome movie trilogy. If I ever become a billionaire, I will fund a series of HH or 40k films :D

I remember years and years ago, work had started on a live action 40k film. Early 90s AFAIK. Probably a good thing that didn't go ahead :p

There's a good Warhammer books thread in the music, books and tv forum (mostly me and Newts!)

The main problem with Black Library books is they actually release books I want to read....faster than I can read them. I'd have to give up reading anything else to keep up!

Filmwise it needs to be animated/CGI really, the budget for live action would be obscene. Basically pay whoever made the Dawn of War intros to make a full film in that style :D

Yes! agree. DoW intros are amazing. I found Ultramarines a big let down, probably due to the fact of how excited I was. The CGI I thought was poor although I still enjoyed it because of it being from the 40K universe.

I'm still going to hold out for a live action movie :p

The Lord Inquisitor looks amazing. If I remember rightly, a lot of the work (certainly in the initial stages) was done by a single person and looks way better than the Ultramarines movie did.

I hope the weather improves either today or tomorrow. I need decent conditions to spray my Stryker model outdoors so that I can paint him soon. :(
