Tabletop Warhammer?

Except a stat can't go above 10 :p

Another one, Avatar can apparently buy Night vision....which only affects guns over 12"....Avatar has a 12" range shot. It's like they haven't really thought some things through!

I've bought Warhammer Quest but not had a chance to try it yet.

Similar (it's actually how it was in the codex before the last)

Eldrad is just a normal psyker now, has to roll for powers and can't cast them twice :(

Ah. Is Eldrad ML3 or ML4? If the latter, I could happily do without being able to cast any single power twice, I guess. Not that I ever used him often.

My internet is...eh. It works and it doesn't (usually when I've reached the final table of a poker tournament! >.<), but I'll be happy to try a game if you don't mind there being a chance I may get a dropout or two. I don't even know if I actually uploaded the list I wrote. :p

I've also just received my shipping email. Something tells me that the standard shipping won't get it to me tomorrow, but I can hope!

He's 4. A lot is being made of Farseers being 3 by default but quite a few of the powers are 2 warp charge points any way. There is a piece of wargear that lets you reduce it to 1 but you then have no armour for the turn after... Also Ghosthelms only avoid perils of the warp if they expend a warp charge point. Runes have been nerfed a lot too, I think Farseers and Warlocks may have been the greatest nerfs in the codex actually.

I liked Eldrad's rules because they were a bit different and really fit well with his character. He seems to be a bit of a beast in combat now though (he did beat Abaddon once...) Also he appears to be alive, I thought he was dead :p Would have been interesting to have him as a Wraithseer.

Well we can give it a go, I'm house sitting for the next few weeks so I'm going to be bored as hell :p I haven't seen your list, mine is in the dropbox I think so you've had plenty of time to prepare ;)

You around this weekend?

I'm dreaming it'll turn up tomorrow but realistically Monday or tuesday probably.

Well that sounds like it could be interesting. I am really, really excited to get the new Codex because the way the current ones have been going, it sounds like we're in for a treat. I actually really liked some of the Tau stuff, especially the Supporting Fire rule and the Cadre Fireblade's ability to Overwatch and then fall back - the kind of tactics I'd love to be able to employ as part of standard battles! :p

I haven't looked at your list, instead I decided just to get a solid core of troops, then add on a mixture of units I've already seen used to good effect (Wraiths, Annihilation Barges) and others that just looked interesting. Sadly one unit choice was made because I couldn't figure out what else to do with the remaining points. I'll upload the list shortly and I'm sure you'll easily guess which unit I'm talking about. :p

I am indeed around this weekend. Could play tomorrow evening if you'd like. :)

Is that basically the old board game?

never played the board game :( (looked up getting a cop, i don't have that much money to spend on board games :( ) but from what I have read yes its like the board game.

Talisman has a digital version coming out soon and I have see a few other RP board games with digital versions, would anyone here be interested in trying a few?

I've played the Talisman Prologue game almost religiously on my phone, it's really quite fun.

I've never played Dark Eldar and I'm pretty sure Joel hasn't played Necrons so it should be an interesting match!

Saw those in the White Dwarf and liked them then, very tempted to get a set because they are awesome! now not sure if they would be used as something in my army or just paint them up because they are cool!

But i also want to get one of the Forge World dreadnoughts for my army, decisions .... will take both :P

A shamelessly stolen idea for Season 2 of Vassal (if it ever happens!):

You pick a core list (say up to 1500 points) then 3 expansion lists of say 500 points each. Core has to follow standard Force Allocation rules, expansions can have a maximum of 1 from each slot. Then each battle you get to choose which expansion you want to use in that battle.

They're usually pretty quick. Supposedly there's already one doing the rounds. :o

A while back, I was asking about paint racks. Today a box turned up from Poland, and inside were some rather nifty bits of wood.

I did mean to take a picture of the paint rack without the paint on, but I forgot and since it took me a while to arrange everything by colour and shade, I'll just give a link to the product page instead. :p

Paint Station
Paint Rack

There are a couple of sizes available for each and you can have either 25mm (Vallejo, Reaper) or 35mm (GW, P3, Coat d'arms) pot slots, or mix and match as required. At less than £2 more than the GW paint station, I think the one I got is pretty good value. Bit of assembly required, but it couldn't be easier. :)
