Tabletop Warhammer?

Got a question, we recently started using flyers and came across this argument.

One of my squads were under his plane, he proceeded to pie plate me but the pie plate also covered his flyers base.

He claimed he didnt need to take that hit as he was flying through the air,

The attack in question was the ordance barage from his imperial captain or what ever its called.
 
That raises some interesting questions... If the flyer had dropped the bomb then Id say the flyer would be in the clear, equally if a rocket or tank shot at the unit then I would also say it was in the clear but as its an ordnance barage I'm assuming they are falling similar to a mortar then I would say the flyer would get hit.
 
Rulebook p81 first paragraph.

Hard to Hit : .... Template, Blast and Large Blast weapons cannot hit Flyers in Zoom mode.

and he could not place it.

p33 Blast & Large Blast : ...You cannot place the blast marker so that the base or hull of any friendly models is even partially under it...

So in that game he could not place the template there. He could place it so it was centred on another of your models but didn't touch his flyer base and let it scatter and he would still not take the hit as flyers are not affected by blasts.

I think it scatterd thats were the argument came in,

We made an unwritten rule that, as its a big laser comming down, if the hole in the pie plate hit his base it would be classed as a hit, because the ordance would be like a small beam shooting down and the pie plate is the blast radious

I think thats an interesting house rule. Would need some working out beforehand as to exactly what is coming from above but could definitly be interesting.
 
We have a few daft house rules for fun, because were pretty new at 40k, a friend used to collect lotr warhammer and gave us his terrain.

We have this one statue that looks like jesus, so we usually say were fighting in brazil and if your 3" near jesus you gain a 6+ fnp just for the luls
 
its repeadtly saying out of space. So ive changed it so all my syncing is the army lists and still not letting me upload.

Ive just emailed it to you so you can stick it up on the drop box so you guys can see it

lol ok. I think you have to deselect stuff you don;t want to sync, then delete the files from your dropbox (and hopefully they won't delete from ours!) I can always reverse it so give that a go. Does this mean you can't see my list? I'll email it to you.
 
No i see yours fine if I go to the website.

I clicked on settings and unchecked the main folder then only selected the army list folder. Then it all removed from my pc but still says im over my limit. With the same amount of space used as if I still had everything selected.
 
Grr, unfortunately I can't try things out because it's completely different if you're host.

If we can't fix this I can create two shared folders, a core folder with the lists/codex/rulebooks etc then a Bonus one for people that have enough space to store everything?

John is going to be a little late so 7:45 start probably (he's frantically redoing his list to counter us :p)

Itll be something im doing. Not had any previous experience with drop box. 7:45 is fine ill be up at the pc in not too long anyway.
 
it is safe to say, my list did not work, plus some bad playing on my part and khorne was too busy baking cookies instead of blessing my troops.
