Tabletop Warhammer?

I wouldn't play Blood Angels, I just don't hate myself that much!

I don't see how a dread is an answer, it's not mobile so it's easy to avoid, and two meltagun would take it down very quickly!

they seemed to be going on the assumption that it would get into combat in which case it has a good chance of just holding the lord in place, the best option is probably to just shoot the **** out of him. Also as someone else pointed out in that thread, a dreadnought is just easy first blood most of the time so it is quite the gamble that it would survive long enough to catch the lord of khorne.

Going to look into favouring another of the dark gods for tomorrow so you may not be up against mr Khorne :P

Although sham isnt going to play BA, could you not drop pod a furiso in. Have him shoot and hide for a turn, then charge him. For every wound you get an attack, not much stands up to that. Or make it a psychic dread, use something to keep him quiet a turn then make him burger meat.

I might try Tau.

If he gets into any of your tau, you've had it!

I know, just discussing ways to potentially deal with the psychotic ******* wielding the daemon weapon.

While your approach may work, the dreadnought would not catch the chaos lord on a bike.

well, need to be 12" away to rapid fire plasma's, then they get their 2D6 jump. There's a chance it would be far enough away to avoid combat. Plus they'd then get overwatch as well.

Speaking of Tau. As i mentioned I was thinking of taking them (eventually) for my irl allies for my new eldar army. What do you guys think of a couple of broadsides, a crisis commander with PEN behind an Aegis for an anti air option. As after a quick glance through the eldar book, there seems to be lack of AA. Also i believe that a farseer could allow them to reroll hits. ?

My eldar army will be mainly jetbikes and foot infantry in Wave serpents.

Was about to post asking how you got 12, but worked it out for myself:

Chaos Lord has 3
2 Weapon bonus is +1
Charging is +1
Charging with Rage from MoK is +1
AoBF is +D6

That's 7-12 attacks on the charge

If he was on a Juggernaut instead, 8-13 attacks. Wat?!

Not to mention the Str6, AP2 and striking at I5.
