Tabletop Warhammer?

Taken from Bolter and Chainsword who got the info from warseer.com

Up for release in September is the new Codex: Space Marines.

- There will be 7 Ltd Ed varients. 6 of these will be covers for First Founding chapters, whilst the 7th will have Black Templars on the cover.

- New weapon family: Grav weapons. I believe these wound against the armour save (so terminators would be wounded as if they had a toughness of 2).

- First Founding chapters will be getting a substantial section each to themselves, so hopefully this can be looked as as Codex: Space Marines instead of Codex: Ultramarines. This will also show in a rule called Chapter Tactics, for which the effects depend on the chapter being played.

- There is a new armour type that at first glance looks to be somewhere between a terminator and a dreadnought - looking more closely, it appears to go over the marine's power armour however.
- This new armour can be armed in 2 ways, depending on the user. The devastator version has either a bolter array or missile launchers mounted on the chest armour, whilst the gauntlets can be armed with heavy bolters, lascannons or grav cannons. The assault version has a bolter array or frag launchers mounted on the chest armour, with assault drills mounted on the gauntlets.

- There are 2 new AA tanks. One tank veterans will already be familiar with as the Hunter, armed an AA missile launcher. The other tank mounts 2 tri-barreled turrets instead.

- There is a new tactical squad. Lots of options as you'd expect, but of particular interest will probably be the grav pistol and grav rifle.

- A new plastic Sternguard veteran squad.

- A new plastic Vanguard veteran squad.

- New plastic characters: a captain, a librarian and a chaplain.

Awesome! There's some really good stuff on eBay at the moment. I ended up buying a few Menoth items earlier in the week, and currently have this on my watch list. There's about £550 of models there, so if it stays below £200 (unlikely) I'd almost be tempted. :o

I've gone from owning no Eldar models to owning:

10 Scorpions
5 Rangers
2 Farseers
2 War Walkers

In about 2 weeks due to Ebay. I've almost doubled my feedback :D

Nice! Are all Sisters of battle models metal? I was looking at some a few weeks ago and they look fun to paint.

I'm watching a load of battlewagons, bikers, trukks and a few meganobs. Normally you'd be hard pressed to find any battlewagons at a realistic price and unassembled and meganobs are just hard to come by full stop. Good bye bank balance :(

Ebay is a bugger for that :p All I seem to do is keep adding to my army but not actually paint or assemble anything :o Hopefully I'll get my arse into gear after the summer

I'm not sure about the Penitent Engine or Throne of Judgement (though I suspect they are), but I believe everything else is metal, including the additional components to turn the Rhino base into an Exorcist or Immolator. I would actually love to get hold of that bundle for a decent price, but it's probably a bad idea considering everything else I'm currently working on/going to be working on next. :p

I need to find the blinking space to do it, My house is currently in a mess :( By time I get around to it Ill be buying new paints and that again lol. Very tempted to get an air brush when I start again. Especially as I am having a 8ft x 20ft x 7 1/2 ft shed built in the back garden with a work bench lol

If you buy it now, you can save it for a rainy day ;)

I would love to have large space like that to do my painting. At the moment I'm having to paint on my computer desk :(

Don't tempt me! :p

Computer desk is all I have at the moment. It's big enough, I guess, but I'd like more dedicated soace for it. Luckily it is next to a window, at least, so I can get away with airbrushing in here for the moment.

I think its more of a case of being bothered to get all my paints out and then pack them away once I've finished. I can be quite lazy at times :p

Dettol works fine BUT do not use a toothbrush to scrub the model as the paint 'jellifies' and becomes a sticky substance which the toothbrush then spreads across the figure make a right old mess.

I leave mine to soak in dettol overnight then blast them with cold water which does a great job of lifting the old paint off without leaving a sticky residue behind.
