not worth opening another thread for this so I will ask in here as I think this is probably the appropriate thread for it......
Has anyone got any suggestions for an alternative to the GW Grey Seer base paint ? I already found a decent alternative to Wraithbone Bone which I use a lot for base coats when using contrast paint to get a warmer / brighter highlight feel, I use Golden High Flow acrylics Titan Buff via an airbrush. I need to find an alternative for Grey Seer though, because for the next paint job I am doing I will end up gunning through lots of it and I don't much like GW's rattle cans and their 12ml pots end up being rather uneconomical when you need to batch paint 100's of models.
Normally I would just do a zenithal prime using vallejo black / grey and white primers (73.600 - 73.602). However this is for a "get it to table top quick project" for a couple of mates so I am not going to arse around zenithal priming a shed load of models. Need to knock out a full army of Blood Angels, Ultramarines and Dark Angels. I did a test using Titan Buff as undercoat but it makes them all come out way to warm and bright. Grey Seer is deffinitely the base coat I need, but looking at the ammount of plastic I am going to need to cover it's not really the best option price wise, plus I want something that I can just wack out of an airbrush with minimal fuss
