Tabletop Warhammer?

Cheers :) I really like the blue I’ve used on the most recent ones I’ve painted but I want to use various blues as I think it’s a bit more orky to have a mix of shades from unit to unit

Definitely!
My painting is mediocre at best but I just enjoy sitting down and slapping some paint down.

Hadn't painted for most of the year until a few weeks ago but got everything built and primed in the summer, so finally sat down the other week and working my way through 20 boyz and doing them one by one and just grabbing random colours, a proper rag tag bunch of ladz who are always up for a scrap!

They said / hinted on twitter that the AoS box sets will be announced soon as well. The ImperialFists box looks great for getting some primaris marines which I'd love to get.

Hey so... I got an Umbral six model as part of my wh+ sub, and I have never owned or painted a mini before.

I don't want to buy a bunch of paint and brushes and get into the hobby, but I WOULD like a well painted mini as a little showcase in my desktop case or around my desk.

Is there anywhere I can either trade my unpainted Umbral six for a painted model that might be less in vogue these days (which I care nothing about) or where I could get it painted well without breaking the bank?

Seems like a waste just having it sitting here.

Once you can’t get it anymore (I think you actually can’t any more and it’s moved to this year’s ones) it’ll creep up in value a bit, you might be able to fetch semi-decent money on eBay for it and use that to buy something painted.

On eBay at least though anything painted reasonably well people expect silly money for.

I have since discovered fiverr and seems there are people who will paint it for money, so I'm looking at that now :)

1000pt Eldar vs 1000pt Salamanders coming up tomorrow, i'm going to use my default 1k pt list I think, interested in seeing what my opponents throw at me. Was hoping to use my guard but haven't been able to get my hands on a sneaky codex yet.

Another whitewash for marines there. Lost 3 incursors and took 1 wound on a librarian and 4 on a dread.

Rolled off and got first turn. Had deployed with my librarian and a squad of incursors deep in their half.
Psychic phase I managed a super smite taking out 3 banshees which were just 9 inches away.
Opened up on them with the incursors and dropped another one. My dreadnaughts further down the field completely fluffed their plasma shots only managing to put 2 wounds on a weapons platform and 1 on a squad of shroud runners. Suppressors managed to pop the first shroud runner.
Charged the squad of incursors in to the banshees and my librarian in to the spiritseer accompanying them. Killed the lot.
The eldar moved forward but somewhat conservatively largely sticking to cover. This is when things started to go very wrong for them. The farseers smite was denied. He then failed his second power.
Both squads of rangers popped up and for some reason targeted the dreads, splitting fire. No wounds taken at all. The d cannon on the platform managed a single wound on one before the combined fire of the farseer, 2 shroud runners, 3 vypers with shuriken cannons and a vyper with brightlance managed 3 more and 1 on an incursor. Turn over!
Marine turn 2 and everything moved up exept the eliminators camping on an objective at the back. Again the librarian went on a rampage. Another smite put 3 mortals on the farseer. The incursors popped at the platform leaving it on 1 wound. The first dread finished it off with the small arms before doing the same to the farseer. Plasma went in to the vypers and finished off one and wounded another. Second dread finished off number 2 and put a wound on the last. Suppressors dropped another shroud runner leaving the last on 1 wound.
Unfortunately this had left my chaplain, librarian and first incursor squad out of charge range.
Out of the clouds dropped the eldar swooping hawks. Rangers moved out of their cover whilst the remaining vypers dropped back. The shroud runner feeling brave rushed forwards to charge some incursors.
Again the rangers went for the dreads doing nothing. The remaining firepower of the vypers and shroud runners killed 2 incursors and put a wound on another.
40 shots from the swooping hawks didn't do a single wound to the suppressors. Unreal.
The last shroud runner was heroically intervened when charging the incursors and swiftly dispatched by the librarian.
Both squads of rangers charged the second squad of incursors killing one and wounding another before being butcherd in return, only 3 surviving from 10. They held fast however!
Marine turn 3 and the suppressors drifted back in to line of sight of the swooping hawks, I dropped the eliminators back too to get shots on them.
Everything else moved up to either take objectives or draw a line on the vypers. One of which was destroyed by another smite (didn't fail a single psychic roll).
The two dreads accounted for the last one with their plasmas. The eliminators and suppressors between them mulched the swooping hawks leaving 2 and the exarch.
Went to the combat phase and the rangers in combat with my incursors did nothing, I wiped them out in return. This left just the 3 swooping hawks on the table.

I have never played a game with such crazy one sided rolling. The eldar lost in the first turn with the incursors and librarian killing all of their targets and then surviving a mass of firepower in return to no effect whilst therefore being a threat right in the elder back lines. This meant that board and so objective control was impossible.

not worth opening another thread for this so I will ask in here as I think this is probably the appropriate thread for it......

Has anyone got any suggestions for an alternative to the GW Grey Seer base paint ? I already found a decent alternative to Wraithbone Bone which I use a lot for base coats when using contrast paint to get a warmer / brighter highlight feel, I use Golden High Flow acrylics Titan Buff via an airbrush. I need to find an alternative for Grey Seer though, because for the next paint job I am doing I will end up gunning through lots of it and I don't much like GW's rattle cans and their 12ml pots end up being rather uneconomical when you need to batch paint 100's of models.

Normally I would just do a zenithal prime using vallejo black / grey and white primers (73.600 - 73.602). However this is for a "get it to table top quick project" for a couple of mates so I am not going to arse around zenithal priming a shed load of models. Need to knock out a full army of Blood Angels, Ultramarines and Dark Angels. I did a test using Titan Buff as undercoat but it makes them all come out way to warm and bright. Grey Seer is deffinitely the base coat I need, but looking at the ammount of plastic I am going to need to cover it's not really the best option price wise, plus I want something that I can just wack out of an airbrush with minimal fuss

Some of the Vallejo surface primer greys are close.

I have ghost grey and it's a touch darker but normal grey might be closer?

Have another game against a different mates Aeldari next week. 1500pts. Do I roll out a Salamanders Melta/flame bomb? 9 Eradicators and a bunch of Aggressors. Maybe a Leviathan or two?

Or should I not be a massive chode?

My Death Gaurd box came but got took straight off me and wrapped up. Didn't even get to check the box art out :(

Any neat paint I should be looking to pick up for some cool effects? Moot Green and nurgle rot seem to be common
