Tabletop Warhammer?

After several months of DIY getting in the way of my plastic toy addiction, i've started playing catchup on my Combat Patrol subscription and have spent the morning assembling the last 10 issues worth of models :D

yeah sanding pen has arrived, I'll test it later on the thing I purchased it for. Currently just having a clear out to put some local ads on for the models I decided I won't use, like leftovers from the big chaos boxes, Dark Commune, Cultists etc.

This is so I can feel good before I refill the space with other boxes, though I'm way better than when I first started. EC will be on the shelf for a year until I decide what colour to go with.

Glad you got the sanding pen ok, just finished the first coat of clear seal on the log cabin, felt odd using a 2 inch brush instead of a tiny one ;)

First attempt lol, doesn't need to be invisible as I just needed it flat to put something else on it. Used two pads doing it so was probably pressing too hard trying to rush it. I was about to ask for a pic on your progress but then realised that would be fruitless as it's clearcoat lol.

Edit: Also next time I will do it outside and/or use my respirator, was a lot of dust..

You will get the feel for it, add a bit of water to the area you are sanding and don't press too hard down with the pen.

I checked your previous message so remembered the wet part at least. Was thinking how will I know if the sandpaper wears out, next minute, orange bits everywhere :D Was deffo pressing too hard as well but this was an easy bit to practice on as very hard to mess it up. Good tool, thanks for the recco.

I'm not one for customising models much but I had an idea for something for an EC Rhino but I don't think it will be possible, as in it probably is but I don't have the skill and it will be too tricky overall, Juice wont be worth the squeeze as they say.

No problem at all, you will find using the small sanding head makes life a lot easier removing the flash once you have removed the parts from the sprues.

I only ever use the tool on the lowest speed, which makes controlling it a bit easier too.

Got these today. Carbon copy of the Greenworld stuff clips I have for half the price I paid. They must just rebrand the product for different companies. Real handy for airbrushing having two really helps the workflow moving parts back and forth.

I got one for about 4 quid but I can't recall where. As with 'gaming', sticking 'hobby' on a generic product is how they justify charging more :)

Edit. Actually it's not a true comparison. I just got the clips and then I stuck them in the holes on the rotating base that came with my spray booth.

GWS base is like 7 quid and then that again for the clips. Clips are identical also but you can buy different lengths.

Got my shoulder pads finished yesterday and super pleased second time around. Just need to get them varnished.

Getting there. Not the easiest cloth to paint but I think it’s mostly right hah

It finally happened, a box in which I am missing a base lol. I don't have spares either, but GW were very quick to send me out some spares.

I know they are worth less than pennies but I still thought it was cool that they just did it without even questioning anything like had I even bought the item in the first place.

Saw this at the weekend, guy turned up and was missing a sprue.

Store manager just took another off the shelf, opened it and gave him the missing sprue, no questions asked.

I dunno man, I'm beginning to think we might be paying a fair bit more than what these things cost to make

I think my EC box might be missing a sprue or two

We will have ordered from different places but like do they dispatch it on the release date or is it a bit like game pre-orders where you generally get it a day or two before

Not sure, I know the GW stores get theirs the day before.

TBF, not like Ive decided on a colour yet, getting analysis paralysis lol.
Plus there are quite a few more units I will need to actually play them like I want Fulgrim, and I'll probably need another Rhino or two, sigh.

Do any of you use a Dremel or similar multi tool when cleaning up models or terrain?

I was going to use a knife and files as needed, but I've just found a couple of dremels that look like they could also do the job.

I won't be able to try it out anytime soon since there's no space to work, but I can set the tools aside for later if they are worth using.

Edit - search is my friend. Looks like the Dremel might be too bulky so I'll put them out of the way and revisit it if I get fed up with the knife or fancy a change.
