Taiwan and China thread.

Vast majority of media is Anglosphere or European in origin with Japan being the only serious competition.
You are soo clueless. Yes in the west, western media prevails. Outside of the west they have their own thing going on for when they have time to watch tv. But most of them aren’t glued to their TVs like over here.

We've pretty much completely captured the elites in every country (sending their kids to our elitist institutions is proof of that) so the wants of the respective middle-class in each country are also captive as a result.
Captured? By what materialism?

Either they go out partying (really rich parents) and go home a disgrace or it’s heads down and studying because they understand the importance of education.

  • English is the lingua franca.
  • Vast majority of media is Anglosphere or European in origin with Japan being the only serious competition.
  • Professional (for the most part)/casual (less so) clothing is pretty much entirely European design though various countries do successfully maintain their culture in this regard (especially if their clothing is climate relevant) it still seeps in.

  • Food thankfully for everyone's sakes is still fairly immune.
It might change a bit in the following decades but realistically I don't see how anyone comes out on top of this century long bludgeoning.

Large parts of British culture is dead, there is none.
There is more to culture than that, what you describe is business culture.
Btw our education system is based on the Prussian public education system model.

Try and visit other countries more often you will be shock.

The UK is being asset stripped by all, in the same way Britain asset strip countries during their own empire.

All based on the model of trading which the British empire was based on.

The country is being erased just like all passed empires.

Btw as the country continues to be asset stripped by all, taxes will need to cover it, and it is temporary hidden until one day explodes.

Those cracks would be about 60cm to 1m wide at their widest point (as accurate as I can measure from the images) - is that genuinely likely?

If I discounted these as "cracks" and had to come up with some other reason, I might consider things like water, drying marks from the surface paint/finish etc amongst others but "cracks" wouldn't be my first guess, even if it fuels my "China makes cheap garbage" thoughts.

Such a large crack would be possible. At a guess, maybe the ship is flexing while at sea and the deck is too stiff so it is cracking (or the ship is not stiff enough so its flexing too much).

H I Sutton aka CovertShores, who is about as experienced as anyone on these kind of things, doesn't think they are [structural] cracks, it may be degradation of the top surface however.

CCP spokeswoman: America evil, horrible place

Also CCP spokeswoman: I send my daughter to live in and study in USA, she buy nice house for us and help us get money out of China

I know so many that have done this. Not that long ago China flushed out loads of its "Greedy Judges" who had dealings with money under the table and those involved or had undeclared money quickly invested in foreign currencies, assets and used their kids to move money out to buy things like property, expensive luxuries etc. Assets were the main thing though, buying up property and starting new projects.

Seems Cuba has said that China military intelligence can set up shop to listen into florida.. tit-for-tat for Taiwan?

Maybe a little tit for tat for tit for tat:

I've not been watching in awhile with stuff going on elsewhere taking my attention so don't know how usual it is but I've not previously seen US signals recon pushing up so close to China.

US military activity seems on a slight up tick tonight - lots of submarine/maritime related activity with a Boeing E-6 Mercury operating off the US east coast and lots of Boeing P-8A Poseidon active globally.

Biden has sanctioned pilot training schools around the world, most of which are located in Africa and the Middle East

The sanctions are because at the request of the CCP, these flight schools have been aggressively trying to recruit former fighter pilots from the US and Europe to train Chinese fighter pilots at these schools how to beat western planes

The US won't want to do it, but it might be time to put former military employees who worked with state secrets or have sensitive knowledge that's critical to national security under full time surveillance until such time their knowledge is no longer deemed to be a risk.
