So China has now banned Teslas and more vehicles will be added later from parking within a certain radius of any government or military facility. There are signs going up everywhere, it's bad enough that at least in one city Tesla can't park anywhere near the city's civilian airport because the PLA are also there

Why is this? It's because the CCP has figured out that it can use its own cars to spy on foreign governments and because they know they can do this, they think Americans can do it as well so are proactively banning any foreign vehicles that theoretically have enough onboard electronics and sensors to be used for spying. And yea a Tesla does, with all the senora and cameras it could in theory capture a whole lot of audio and video if you were to say park it in in front of a government building

TBF that’s most modern vehicles especially with basic autonomous driving capabilities and up. Anyone could hack into one of those and access the cameras.

Is this just a rehashing of the chip based off of AMD tech transfers?

The issue was whether they could scale it properly without the knowledge base from ASML.

The U.S' decoupling from China has passed a new milestone. As of last month, China is no longer the largest trading partner with the US. Mexico has overtaken China to become the largest trading partner

Seems china have cracked 7nm, with the US showing some concern.

Either that or they have just evaded sanctions to get the tech in.

China does seem to have a working 7nm production capability though indications are that it requires each design to be "hand built" for it and frequency is somewhat limited. That will eventually give them the experience to perfect it however.

Indian opposition leader says modern day China only exists because the West created it and allowed it to exist. But now he says China has shown it's an unreliable and aggressive trade partner focused on coercing others, and due to that, he urges the West to allow India to take China's place as the worlds factory

Don't mention Modi's role in anti-muslim killings , or their support for Russia, but there again, Rishi sold out with the G20 statement (will Keir capitalize)

unsurprisingly Chinese are cleverer than some & Biden expected
Chinese manufacturers seeking to skirt the higher costs imposed by the trade war are pouring money into Mexico as a base for exports to the U.S. Investment in Mexico by Chinese companies totaled $2.52 billion last year, up about 50% from 2021, according to the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

"For the sensitive products like semiconductors and telecommunication equipment, it seems that some production shifted out of China to other Asian developing economies, most notably Vietnam," David Dollar, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, wrote in a report on the USMCA.

China & Modi are just perpetuating Ukraine V - so maybe truss is right China's a threat to UK - should have an additional import duty/sanction on products using russian oil.

  • Russian oil exports held steady at around 7.3 mb/d in July, as a 200 kb/d decline in crude oil loadings was offset by higher product flows. Crude exports to China and India eased m-o-m but accounted for 80% of Russian shipments. Higher oil prices, combined with narrowing discounts for Russian grades, pushed estimated export revenues up by $2.5 bn to $15.3 bn, $4.1 bn below year-ago levels.
