It's not going to be run 4000 on any board currently with Ryzen or ryzen 2. Most imc max out at 3466-3600mhz in my testing. Dual channel stable with retail cpu no combination I tried is doing 4000mhz.

Anyone any experience on this RAM with the 4011 BIOS for the B350-F strix board please?

https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?94642-ROG-STRIX-B350-F-GAMING-issues/page25

Been reading the latest bios messes with memory and is very picky. I'm running 1700X (stock - yeah I know, cba and don't have time these days lol) on 30xx BIOS at moment...... Ain't touched it since I built it so overdue BIOS and software upgrades - its been an awesome overkill minecraft rig for my daughter this past year or so lol.

Quick Q - I have your 3600Mhz CL16 ram kit, will it run happily at 3200mhz / cl14?

Thanks

Looking to upgrade to a ryzen 2700x and asus crosshair vii.

Will this 8 pack ram work with it and will it run at 4000mhz. I know it says intel , but just curious. Some reviews I've seen recommend going for 4000mhz ram for the ryzen 2.

I have that ram with a 2600x and Asus Prime X470-Pro.
They only contain an XMP profile for 4000MHz so you'll probably need to set the timings yourself if running above 2133MHz with Ryzen. Motherboard Auto settings will probably work but will be slack.

Sweet spot for mine is 3466 CL 16 15 15 15 command rate 2T at roughly 1.3V (approx 62.8nS latency in Aida64).
CL14 doesn't seem to be do-able at much above 3200, and 3533 not stable enough at C16, regardless of DDR or SOC voltage.

Disabling geardown, which leads to the board Auto-selecting 2T, seems to drop latency roughly 1-1.5nS compared to 1T with gear-down enabled.
Seems counter-intuitive, but thats what Aida reports and I'll happily take that reduction in latency.

as 8 pack stated, not going to hit that speed. its recommend because its on sale for cheap!!! and also hopefully Zen2 and its refresh will increase Mem speeds the kit will last twice as long.
though it'll take more work to get right then 3200hz kit which is plug, enable and play ready

ah *facepalm* me not looking fully - fulled from X399 thread hoping that they finally get it

Yeah the Threadripper AGESA is behind the normal Ryzen platform. 1.0.0.6c I think was the last SummitPI AGESA, then they reset the numbering for PinnaclePI with launch boards having 1.0.0.1 again, the latest version being 1.0.0.3c.

This RAM is teh best stuff for AMD platforms for sure. it was designed to be the most compatible stuff on AMD and Intel available and as such uses very carefully selected IC and carefully programmed SPD.

I received my RMA of my ram.

But the box was not sealed. Now I'm now unsure if OcUK just sent it back to me without switching the ram.

I'll try it. Fingers crossed it doesn't freeze on me.

Pc seems much happier at 3133MHz.

I guess I'm happy to have a working PC and 3133MHz isn't far off the 3200MHz I was hoping for, but still it bothers me why 8 Pack ram and a 2700x cant achieve what others find to be very basic.

Is it my mobo that's the issue?

Even then others with my board achieve higher frequencies with this ram.

I've got some great deals out of TeamGroup who build us the 8 Pack memory, after a lot of talking and helped my memory prices easing, our famous 3200MHz kit is just £179.99 for THIS WEEK ONLY, also done as we've just passed 1000 units sold for this specific kit which is huge success as 8 Pack brand is a new entry to the memory market but its our no.1 high-end selling kit, outselling all the other big brand names we offer. But so it should, it completely kicks all their backsides and cost way less money. :)

does removing the heat spreader invalidate warranty as I am looking to build a Ryzen system but considering dark rock pro 4 and while it fits with the spreader off its not worth the warranty..

I think it fits if you just remove the top fin of teh spreader which is fine.

Like I said in several CPUs I did find one not doing 3200 so its not impossible to be CPU issue. SO far I prefer X370 boards than these new 470s I have to say... I think Bios maturity will improve them though.
