Teeth whitening - Recommended kits?

Gone for the Phillips zoom admittedly off eBay.. that's what my dentist uses however instead of 16% I've opted for 22%. Assuming it's a legitimate product which it should be then I'd hope all will be okay. I've also ordered some custom moulds to be made.

Would be interested in your feedback. Zoom Philips is the one I’m considering

I have probably posted on here before but,

GO on eBay and buy any Imported from US/Canada or eastern Europe Teeth whiting strips, get at least 60.
Whatever the active chemical is, get the absolute strongest there, hydrogen or carbamide peroxide, and use it for double the recommended time for the first few applications, stopping only if your teeth or gums start melting.

Its pure chemistry, if you are sensitive to the reaction it will hurt. Especially if you have chipped or damaged enamel.
You will see results after the first few applications.
Dont go crazy on it or you will go Ross from Friends.

It does work, i was a heavy smoker in my 30s and it bleached them to bone white again.

No pain no gain. Its just chemistry.

I also tried the crest strips from the US ages ago and it hurt plus I struggled to keep them stuck on. So I'm going to try the custom gum shields which hopefully keep it in place much better and whiten more evenly.

Anyone know about the current situation with this stuff - was due to have a dental checkup soon (and brush/polish etc..) and tempted to ask about whitening etc.. obvs not going to the dentist anytime soon now!

It seems that e-bay, amazon etc.. have clamped down on the official crest whitening strips from the USA, obvs there are other suppliers out there selling via websites but they seem to be a rip off these days and I generally prefer amazon/e-bay (PayPal) when dealing with small suppliers.

So current offerings on Amazon/e-bay are specifically stuff that doesn't contain peroxide, instead (to keep within UK/EU rules) the active ingredient seems to be Sodium Chlorite. Does this do a similar-ish job or is it a bit naff in comparison in terms of results?

My wife is a dentist. Basically a lot of the kits you get over here are illegal, particularly if they're from the US, as the chemical is stronger. They can damage/burn your gums. The best way by far is to get the dentist to do it, once lockdown is over. I wouldnt recommend any other way.

Just to add, reading some of the posts above, please be careful. If you do opt for a DIY job and you do hurt yourself you really are going to be stuffed.

Question is about the stuff that is legal in the UK/EU. I’m not looking at importing anything potentially dodgy (though I suspect this is perhaps a case of EU being overly cautious).

you guys don't worry about your teeth getting wrecked by all the bleaching and becoming brittle or becoming permanently sensitive when you're older?

lifes kinda funny it wasn't that long ago men didn't really care all that much about their appearance and social pressure it was only a woman thing and people complained these pressures should be removed from society.

now its men, teens, even kids that look like midget people instead of actual kids.

social media and "influencers" ruin lives everything about them is fake and edited

I bet there are people who killed themselves because their teeth looked natural in colour and not perfectly bright glow in the dark white
everyone gotta spend tons of money on make-up even if your a dood etc

worlds gone mad, 20years ago you would be beat up for looking like a woman, now you're expected to as a man.

I agree with the above. Get them deep cleaned at the dentist for hygiene once or twice a year. Risking the potential of sensitive teeth due to bleaching is a no no.

I usually use Crest Whitestrips, always does the job.

I’ve got some Phillips Gel since I’ve got plastic tray retainers but didn’t feel like there was much difference, maybe I was just impatient.

I bought 44% carbimide peroxide with the cheap mouldable plastic trays for £5 from China via eBay. It does work well. The trays are not great but you can work away at them and get a pretty good seal.

44% is very high, that strips the enamel, I thought the max was 8% and that had to be prescribed by a dentist.
I would never buy it of eBay or China you never know what it contains.

Can anyone solve this mystery. I've been using plastic whitening trays with 44% gel for about a week. This morning I brushed my teeth with tumeric for the first time ever, I rinsed then thoroughly brushed with regular toothpaste. So the tumeric must have been removed, traces etc.

I fill up my trays at about 10am and place them in my teeth/gums. About 11am I take the trays out and both trays are completely yellow/green. It's really obvious like they've been dyed, apparently UV light is the main thing that turns plastic yellow but I can't see how that's caused this.

I'm thinking somehow traces of the tumeric but as I said I thoroughly rinsed and brushed that out. Weird.

It's wow factor the colour difference.

44% wow how the can you manage that.
I'd assume some tumeric was missed and mixed with saliva.
