Tempest Rising - a new Command & Conquer for 2023

"The developers are in discord and reddit every day answering questions and talking about the game. It's very much in active development still. The lead designer and senior 3D artist have both said marketing has been paused while they work on internal milestones"

was one comment i saw.
To me suggesting to me theres a been a few hickups or the demo was released way early in development for feed back. given the industry layoffs ect i would guess its 50/50 at the moment for a this year release

im not sure they got the big reaction they wanted. a lot of people seemed mixed on it.

posted update for those interested :

Highlights i picked out :
In December, we initiated a comprehensive overhaul of our working processes to ensure we are as efficient as possible with our production schedule and developer time. This was not a trivial effort, but we are happy with the results across our teams.

we had to make the hard choice not to have our 3rd faction playable at launch

neutral garrisons
- not sure why this is am exciting fetaute its a fairly standard item to have.

not ready to reveal our release date

remove the existing demo from the Steam page as it doesn’t represent the game’s current level of visual or gameplay quality

I've been playing the C&C remaster recently, it's fun to game again, and especially so on something that isn't heavily influenced for good graphics/ visuals mainstream bs. RTS single player i forgot how chilled and enjoyable it is to play, hopefully i get round to playing Tempest Rising, unlike all the other games i want to but don't.

I bought the entire C&C catalogue in a steam sale at the beginning of the year for less than a tenner and was shocked how good the graphics are in some of the games after all these years, but that's probably a testament to 4k OLED, as when I played the originals I was probably on 720p LCD. Tempest Rising doesn't look like much of an advancement.

However for good RTS graphics (and a very good game), The Riftbreaker comes tops
