Tempest Rising - a new Command & Conquer for 2023

That's what killed it on the early demo for me.. You can't zoom out properly.
I don't care if half the map is black /fog of war.

Most new rts games are like this and it sucks.

If that's not fixed then this game will suck too.
Shame as there's some interesting mechanics like drone troops and stuff.

I agree with an RTS I like to be able to zoom out enough to see what's going on. I wonder if the lack of zoom is done to help improve performance.

Is this the skirmish mode demo or have they added something else since?

What's included in this demo?
4 Campaign Missions
Dynasty mission 1 (Harvest the Tempest) and mission 2 (The Informant)
GDF mission 1 (Signal Lost) and mission 2 (The Hornet's Nest)

Skirmish Mode
Play against AI bots in custom offline matches
3 maps: Altitude, Overgrown Oasis, and Alps.

I downloaded it. You can't scroll through the legalese with a keyboard - Page Up & Down do not work - and according to the legalese there are going to be microtransactions or real-money purchase of in-game currency. Control is not as good as C&C: I can't seem to have groups on hotkeys, for instance.

this one is on my list. Now I'm playing through remastered Warcraft - amazing games, finished part one, started second one.
I've been waiting long for a good RTS game, like old school one, so this hopefully be it.

Added this to my wishlist ages ago and forgot all about it, looks like it's finally here and seems to be getting pretty decent reviews. I don't think I'll grab it for a while as I've got a few games to get through, but anyone picked it up?

Thinking about getting it. I love RTS games with a passion so seems like a decent option.

It's not officially out until 24th April.
It's currently on pre-order early access for Deluxe edition which costs £50 (standard edition out on 24th is £40)

Yeah if you pay Steam prices.....

Just pick up the Standard for £27.99 or Deluxe for £34.99 from CD Keys

Ahh thanks. I thought it was out as steam sent me an email saying it was now available, I missed that detail.

This was an easy one for me, played the demo what felt like years ago now. It has been on my radar ever since. I ******* love this kind of RTS. Its unapologetically C&C like, from the playstyle to the story to the music even the graphics. Its oozes C&C and I love it for that! If thats what you are after you will love it, if you were looking for anything other than that you might be left wanting.
Its like I've rewound to my younger gaming years.
£41 for the Deluxe + early access. I'm absolutely content to pay that.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the single player demo but having played the full game, it's actually pretty good.

It would benefit from being able to adjust the game speed though.
