Tennis

It has been reported that her father thinks that you get 80% of value from a coach in 6 months in terms of what they can bring. At that point change coach and suck another one dry.

Personally I'm not convinced that's a healthy option at such an early point in your career. But ho hum.

He really said that you change coach every 6 months and then suck another dry??

A difficult thing to overcome.

It makes you wonder how she won the US open which is looking more and more like a one hit wonder. Albeit one that set her up for life. A shame, her tennis was good to watch and good to have someone to root for.

This number of injuries is not normal and you have to think that she has access to the best medical professionals to diagnose and fix the problems. I really hope she is just being stupid and coming back too early or not taking these injuries seriously enough and she doesn't just have horrible injury prone joints/muscles.

As CaptainRAVE says though, shes set up for live even if she never hits another tennis ball.

This is a mental issue as well as physical now.

Nothing mental about this injury, she twisted her ankle in the 2nd set. You could already see swelling staring a little by the time she started the medical time out. It was just unfortunate.

EDIT:

Here's the video of incident. Raducanu at the top.

Which is even more rubbish for us fans who had hoped we finally had a new female champion to cheer for and get excited for. :(

US open win for raducanu was no fluke. She beat since seriously good opponents on the way.

She obviously can play at that level and there have been flashes of it since.

The physicality and relentless schedule is not doing her any favours. She went from zero to flat out so fast it's no wonder her body couldn't keep up.

Give her time. Judge her when she's 25.
