Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

I did have 2 nurses and a demolition guy in my house (by the spawn to the right) and then Evilsod I think has the merchant in his house a little way to the left of spawn.

My house should have I think 5 habitable rooms

You're just arguing semantics to try and justify your actions.

What was discussed (and was clear) was that we would start new characters together with a new world. This was to try and recapture some of that "first game" feeling. Turning up with a pimped-out character and then summoning a goblin army is clearly going against those rules and is also griefing the newer players. If you wanted to "test something" you could have done that in single player or on another server without a load of new characters there to suffer the consequences of your actions.

Nah my house is the small underground one with the terrible entrance (:p) a few 100ft right of spawn, no NPCs there. I know the house you mean but I didn't see a merchant in that 1 either and your house only had a nurse in it ><

After the first day I would fully expect a ton of people (especially those playing near constantly since the server was up) to have loads of high end gear. This is completely different to someone turning up an hour or two after the server started and summoning a goblin army and lounging around in their high end armour whilst new characters (and players new to the game) are slaughtered left right and centre.

Personally I have no problems with you building a tunnel to hell - I kind of expected that to happen at some point and generally is part of the way I would do it with a new character (though I usually get distracted and end up exploring elsewhere whilst the tunnel remains unfinished for a while).

Bringing items from other characters/servers is just as bad as coming on with a high level player though. It really doesn't matter for low-end armour/equipment (oh noes, Bob has a cloud in a bottle..ban him!!!11) but if someone were to come on with hellstone armour straight away and fly around in rocket boots it would really be taking the **** somewhat.

I'm not sure what you've been accused of (aside from the hell tunnel thing) so let me know if I've missed anything.

I built a very, very small golden house (if you can even call it that) at the entrance. I would like to continue my tunnel if people don't mind? I will replace the golden house with a wooden/stone one if people want :p

Replacing the golden house sounds good. I think the tunnel is fine personally - making a good transport system is always useful.

Don't grief other people's builds.
Do not use dynamite at all (will be running TMod soon which will mean dynamite = insta ban).
Don't take anything from other people's chests.
Create a new character and don't bring items from other servers/single player.
The usual one about racist/homophobic/etc language.
