Terraria - Dig, fight, explore, build

This game has so so so many possibilities... I noticed you can enable PVP and even create PVP parties like red team, blue team etc. Imagine starting a server on a large world, where one team starts on one edge of the world, other team starts on the other. You could build bases and set traps and so many other things! Obviously there would need to be some rulesets etc.
 
This game is too much fun. I don't usually sit down and play for longer than a few hours, but I've spent about 6 hours today! I've got full silver and gold weapons so far. Oh and an enchanted boomerang :D

So where are these orb things?
 
Is there any way to speed up passage of time? I'm on my second night and already bored of twiddling my thumbs, waiting for zombies to come knocking and hoping a demon eye doesn't fly in and maul me.

Edit. Or at least, have the game not pause when not the active window?

Go out hunting, look for fallen stars, excavate beneath your house, make an underground garden, make some potions, make a giant penis out of gold, decorate your house, make a boss-arena, go pvp, search for underground caverns and chests, etc etc etc.

Are you playing on your own? If so, jump on a multiplayer server - there really is no way this game should be boring you, it's magnificent!

I have to say, I haven't been this addicted to a game since Torchlight :p

Ok I think I have stumbled upon one of these areas but died quite quickly. So I destroy the orb with a sword then a meteor will fall?

Also whats the best method of defeating the eye of chilulu. I have gold weapons and silver armour. Just nail the crap out out of it with ranged weapons and keep drinking potions?

Yup.. me and FT have built an Arena for fighting bosses, just crack out the eye and jump around with bows, drinking a few potions. It's fairly easy now, we can do three a night easily :p
