=d=d=d=d=d=d cant wait. also on the main page of terraria online theres a huge update about the new patch, an he also reveals why its only being called 1.0.6 instead of 1.1, because in the future 1.1 will have more biomes and an endgame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

netguy and myself have begun to dig a tunnel from one side of the world to another, we have done 4600feet so far. It is 300ft below sea level. If anyone wants to help, feel free!

Halp! I'm sort of at a loss on what to do. My gear is mainly iron/copper and I've encountered some dark stone* I cannot gather/pick my way through - this is mainly near corruption areas where I tend to get swarmed by soul eaters or killed by devourers. Haven't found enough silver to craft any gear of that kind nor do I know how to craft potions - I have materials for some of them but the bench has no option for them =/ Any tips/hints would be highly appreciated.

*Also found some heart shaped stone and dark stone chests with spikes I can't do anything about.

You need a better pick axe, hellfire if it's obsidian or meteorite, gold if it's demonite

the red heart stone gives you an extra heart, use your hammer on it.

dark chest with spikes is a demon alter, has some crafting recipes for bosses.

Its Ebonstone. Only high tier Pickaxes can mine it (above Gold Pickaxe) so you probably won't be getting it any time soon. Failing that you can blow it up with Dynamite which is REALLY expensive or kill the Eye of Cthulhu so the Dryad turns up and sells Purification Powder. Neither of those are realistic either. Just stick to mining till you've got some better gear.

Decided to go kill the Eater of Worlds by destroying the 3rd Shadow Orb. It could've at least given me time to get out! Had to Magic Mirror out and run to the Corruption area so I could fight it above my stone tunnel. For some reason it had halved in length when it found me again, then a bit later it killed me and suddenly it dropped dead... without leaving behind enough Shadow Scales.
So I had to go to the OTHER corruption zone and destroy the Orbs there to summon it again and kill it again

*begs* does anyone have 10 Sapphires I could have/trade for? I haven't seen a single one and its the lalst ingredient I need.

I'm at a bit of a loss. It seems i can't explore any new areas because my gear isn't good enough, and i can't get better gear without exploring new areas. Hmm...

Create a new world and mine more ore from it?

Also this comes in handy http://moreterra.codeplex.com/ although it is cheating. It will look through your world file and make a map of it so you can see where everything is.

I built myself a EoW killing area by creating a building as wide as the screen in the corruption with platforms to jump around. Then I built a house close by so I can summon him with and magic mirror back to get in my kill room quickly. Works great and I can get a nice amount of materials this way.

I believe hes despawning for some people now, because if you leave the corruption he'll die but drop nothing for your trouble.

You can normally explore a fair bit of the regular underground. So long as you don't go near Hell the worst that can happen is you get mobbed by Skeletons. But pushing into the Corruption is awkward. Gets significantly easier after you get a Vilethorn from a Shadow Orb but its a random drop from the 2nd onwards.

Its easier to explore once you know what you're doing though. Its taken 7 (or 8) Shadow Orbs but I finally got a Meteor to spawn. Didn't hit the best of places though, hit my stone tunnel over the Corruption so its wasted a fair bit of ore.

I fought EoW for the first time, spawned him, magic mirrored home, waited for him to arrive.....about 20 seconds later "EOW has been defeated" :confused:
