Terrible Jaguar re-brand

Firmly wedged in the Butt Fugly camp.

I know what they're attempting todo - take the concept of vintage ownership (ie the same thing that makes vintage watches cool), reissue a new design to capture that market trend. The original was not a pretty car, it was a badge of money.
Yeah, I usually like restomods, but this looks a bit of a mess, really over styled.

I'm sure not many people are cross shopping between a quarter of a million pound Jaguar restomod and an EV daily.

That's why it would be that and a "cheap" petrol car to use daily. Pick something which also won't depreciate much.

When you buy a £250k car I don’t think you care too much

Yea you say that, but look at all the millionaire youtube car collectors weighing up running costs and projected value of what they buy :D

People spending that much want it to be worth something in a few years. Not take a flat's worth of depreciation.

It's funny how a garage operation can make more desirable and better Jags. But JLR can't.

yes that TWR thing is horrible - Purdy/Steed wouldn't be seen dead in one, how are they making body panels such that they have to have that horrible slab/angled form - it's like it's inspired by a transformers film,
worse than the ford capri.
I think the dodge muscle car ev's have body form much more nostalgic from USA 60s/70s

Hows the stock market appraisal of jaguar going post-add ? or it's just invisible within the TATA

I was on my phone when I first saw it so had mixed impressions, but there was something in the back of my mind I couldn't quite figure out regarding the look.

Seeing it on my monitor and reading this post made me realise, it looks like a bloody US muscle car.

Dammit I miss all the good stuff :(

On the way home tonight a beautiful, minty fresh E-Type drove past. Like full-on concours condition, I gave the guy a thumbs up and he lit up like a christmas tree. It was also really noticeable how small it is in today's traffic, it almost looked like a kei car

It was at that point that I actually clicked how crap this new rebrand is. From legendary classics like that E-type to a load of gender neutral kids acting weird, what a change.

I get that Jag will likely never relive those glory days of the e-type and that they're barely clinging on to relevance in today's market but still, such a shame. They should've spun off a new sub-brand or something, rather than throw the baby out with the bath water.

''You'll never guess what mate, I won that dream car giveaway the other week!!!"

''You're kidding, BMW Asia inspired 2.5 ton grill special?!"

"Haha, even worse, it's that new Jaguar thing after the re-brand. You know that guy over the road who's been really down in the dumps after his 4th range rover got stolen in 5 seconds and who's paying about 4k to insure it, even he was laughing at it!"

musk in implicated up to his neck in the escalation of the jag issue with his tweets - please keep up

What, one tweet asking a sarcastic question means "implicated up to his neck"?

Are you on crack or heroin?

Edit: Just clicked on the link in your earlier post too and now you're bringing BMW's design concepts in to a Jag discussion?

What the actual **** goes on in your head
